We read the bad reviews about this place but didn’t have much of a choice as far as where to stay. If we had to do it again, we would have just boondocked. The only redeeming feature was the campground’s proximity to the park entrance.
Because of the freezing temperatures overnight, the water to each campsite was turned off and only one bath house was open. Both the men’s and women’s bathrooms were disgusting, although the women’s bathroom took the cake: one of the showers had feces in it for about a day before the once-a-day cleaning. You do have the option to fill your tanks upon arrival, and there is a propane tank refill station. Showers are on a token system; tokens are available for purchase from 8am-4pm when the office is open. The showers were too gross for us to even use shower shoes, so we opted to wait several days until our next campground.
The campground is in walking distance to everything in the village, although we didn’t explore much. It’s a quick drive to the south entrance to Grand Canyon National Park, but do plan to arrive to the park early enough in the day so you don’t have to wait in a long line. We saw lines as long as 3/4 of a mile at the entrance.
We ended up leaving our reservation a day early because we were so dissatisfied. This place would be acceptable if you only need to stay a day, but we can’t advise you stay any longer than that. The only exception would be if you’re able to be completely self-sufficient and don’t need to use their facilities.

GC camper village is a basic, no frills camp ground. The sites are close to one another but easy to pull in and out of. Restroom facilities are dated and could use an update. Showers cost extra. Communication between the management and campers is pretty limited. We mostly communicated by phone but they required us to email confirming we were coming the day we arrived. We were not given the choice to prepay our stay, and had to take care of that in the office when we arrived. Verizon cell signal was weak to non existent mostly. No WiFi available. Sewer hookups were odd, and cumbersome (see con).
Pro: Close to the park entrance and conveniently located in Tusayan for meals and other basic services.
Con: There is a wooden barrier installed around the electrical and sewer hookups. No issues for power, but major problems for sewer hose, as the wood barrier prevented a good gravity flow on the hose. This is been the worst hookup situation in all of our travels over the last year. We made it work, but it presented a lot of adversity that really doesn’t need to be there.
Final Thoughts: A great place to stay next to GC, but if it wasn’t so convenient, I would be looking for another park to stay at.

It was quick and easy to get a site. Contactless type of business. Only downside was no water at the site but then again it’s winter so it’s understandable.

This was a last minute need another night in GC and park was full. So for last minute single night it worked for short drive back to GC. Difficult contacting had to call multiple times offer 2 hrs to get anyone and then be told drop in only. Limited full hook ups majority 30 amp and water available, limited pull through a moat have to unhitch, $3 dump station. Dirty run down bathrooms, $2 for 8 min not worth it. 30 amp voltage varies and we couldn’t run a/c and other utilities (ice maker!) needed without tripping breaker. Any State parks across US have been better for less $$.

Tried for days to contact them before leaving on our trip and during the trip. No one ever answered and after leaving a message. No one ever called us back. Sent email and again no one replied to us. So apparently we don't believe they needed our business.

This is a dusty parking lot with nasty facilities. You are better off boondocking! The bathrooms are grimy, toilet seats with paint worn off. CDC says you don’t get Covid from touching surfaces but I’m not sure they’ve tested here!

First of all, I want to add current Cellular coverage info cause i'm seeing wildly different results than preivous posted.
AT&T - Last night it snowed across the region and I40 and I17 were apparently closed last night. Ten sites here are occupied right now out of 220. Despite a lack of people and 5 bars (-51 according to my LTE router!) bandwidth is attrocious with 800-900ms ping times to google DNS. I would not rely on AT&T for anything, espeically when the place is busy.
T-Mobile - I'm getting aobut halfway on my signal indicator on my t-mo phone, but hot spot use is great. Kids streaming netflix right now while i post this. Not the fastest connectivity ever, but it shouldbe good enough for getting work done during the day.
Campground has all basic amentities. Water they claim wil come on 'tomorrow or in the next few days'. So arrive with full tanks or use the fresh water fill near the dump station (the only water currrently).
Convenience is the chief reason to choose this location. Sites are relatively level and full hookups at most. It's orderly and clean with basic amenities (bathrooms, showers, laundry).

Grocery store, pharmacy, star bucks in walking distance (3-5 mins or less). Has all the hook ups. You do have to fill your fresh water tank near office because the rest is the place as has been winterized. It’s cold here....10 this morning but will heat up to 45 during the day. They sell wood for fire pit. Laundry Available but you have to sign up. There are showers and bathrooms but we didn’t need to use them. Our electric outlet was perfectly fine and NOT UPSIDE DOWN. another review said all of them were upside down but that isn’t true...just one of them. There isn’t wifi. We would stay here again for convenience of visit the GC.
