The park itself is great and was pleasant to get to off of US280. The signage in the park for the campground is a little lacking but it was great otherwise. If we were here for a few days I'm certain the kids would also love all of the activities here.
There's a phone tower in sight of the campground, but it's not tmobile. Download speed of 40 mbps and upload of roughly 15. Luckily we were here on a weekend so it didn't effect school or work.
Definitely recommend the campground.

Our campsite #21 was level and easy to back into provided you drive in from the opposite direction. But there aren’t a lot of clear and helpful signs. Seeing as though there were only a couple campers during this recent rainy weather and it being a weekday it was no problem passing by our site to turn around at the end of the loop and enter correctly.
Our site had three bars of AT&T service and was a premium site with full hookups. There is a dump station on the way out which we did not need. Not sure of the quality of drinking water as we did not use any. The town of Reidsville doesn’t have much going for it except a well-known and respected restaurant called Brief Escape that is only open on Monday and Friday evenings from 6-9 PM. Unfortunately for us the restaurant was closed the Monday we arrived due to their observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
There is a one mile nature trail bordering the campsites as well as a golf course, fishing, and boat rentals. This is definitely a family campground and though sparsely used during the particular weekdays of our stay, the weekends would certainly prove to be much different. The weather and the “nothing-to-do” factor did provide us ample time to relax, read books, and take much-needed naps on this first leg of our journey as we prepare for our eleven-week odyssey up to Vermont and back.
The park office was staffed by two friendly and helpful women who made sure we received our senior discount. Our reservation was originally made for four nights but we decided to just spend two and head further north to Magnolia Springs State Park which is the old site of the largest Confederate POW camp which was used to contain their captive northern prisoners during the Civil War. The listed price we paid of $37.00 per night reflects our senior discount. There was no cancellation fee for checking out early. This is a five star campground for many reasons, but due to the lack of suitable and available activities of personal interest I gave it four stars due to our unquenchable love for American history, old architecture, museums, food, and a bit of quirkiness which was in all sorely lacking. Reidsville is a pretty poor and tired worn-out town. However, they did have a pretty good BBQ spot called Boneyard BBQ. Our lunch orders included the brisket which was top notch as well as the green beans and baked beans. The ribs were simply OK.

This little state park is definitely worth a visit. The campground is small with only 29 sites. Many are FHU and quite a few are big rig friendly. 27 sites plus the host sites are arranged together near the pond. Sites 29 and 30 are a little further up the road together, they are very large side by side pull throughs (your off door sides are towards each other). 29 faces the campground road, 30 faces the woods. We stayed in 30, one of the better campsites we’ve stayed in recently. It’s big and private with a nice patio space. We also liked 24 which is a long back in with a water view but less private. Most of the sites are pretty nice.
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The woman who checked us in was very friendly as was Terri the camp host who met us and made sure we were all set getting into our site. Every day we saw multiple staff members out cleaning and doing maintenance. This was one of the cleanest parks we’ve seen ever. The bathhouses, office and other public spaces were spotless. Leaves and pine needles were blown off sites and one host couple was constantly patrolling for litter.
Utilities were good with decent water pressure. Verizon and AT&T both supported streaming un-boosted. We were able to get a handful of OTA channels.
We visited in early December and most of the week there were only 4 or 5 other campsites occupied. Nights were quiet and dark.
There is a little road noise as you’re close to town but it’s generally not noticeable. You are close enough to town to bike or walk. There are a couple convenience stores and a good hardware store near the entrance.
The park offers a splash pad, fishing pond (no swimming due to gators) and mini golf which is currently under renovation. There is a short nature trail. There is also a golf course that is part of the state park We don’t play but we saw others walk right onto the course from the campsite. There’s not a ton to do nearby so this seems more of a destination for those who want to golf or just relax.
We’d stay here again if visiting the area.

Great cottage - everything new! No Wi-Fi but Verizon cell service is good - strong enough to use cell signal as hotspot for internet/zoom calls.

Nice walking areas for dog, laundry facility, didn't check out the restrooms, a trail (most of it was closed) and awesome day use area. Am including a video on the campground.

The park wasn't crowded at all and the folks who were there were all so nice and no obnoxious noise or other activities. There was a grocery store and gas station right outside the park so we could fill up and stock up before we moved onto our next state park. We also had great cell/internet, and with full hookups and a lakeside view, I would definitely return!

Small lake with boat rentals and a cute splash pad for kids. Close to a cute town. Would have given five stars, but saw more trash around than there should be. People suck
