More sketchy looking rigs and people than we're used to seeing dispersed camping - no mattresses on the ground, but a van with stacks of bins and a push lawnmower (no grass in sight), and old RVs that look like they haven't moved in a long time. Later we chatted with a local and mentioned wanting to camp here, and he said, "Yeah, the homeless encampment". Your mileage may vary depending on your comfort level.

No Yogi’s though.

The camping area is just off the Highway; could hear a bit of traffic even though it was a Sunday night in Mid May. The problem is the site signs are hard to find and only a few of the spots are level. Not good for a large RV. And the road after you are past the entrance has places on the road where you can bottom out.
