We began our southward travel back towards home, however we had a few more stops that we wanted to take in. We ended up going to Goosenecks State Park just off of the San Juan River. It cost $10 a day to stay here and it was well worth it. We parked our RV just off of the thousand foot cliffs overlooking the river below. From this bas... more

Gorgeous and quiet. One of my favorite "campground" experiences. We watched the sun set and rise. Well worth the drive out here and very close to the road through Valley of the Gods. It got a bit windy in the evening, but I don't know if that's a normal trend. Park attendant showed up maybe around 8am. There were only 5 vehicles (2 RVs... more

We arrived at this park in the middle of a wind storm and it only got worse during the night so we didn't really spend a lot of time looking around. I think this would be a very interesting place to camp for a couple of days so we'll have to come back another time. We paid the $10 camping fee but after I was wondering if the place we ... more

This is a great place to spend a day (or a few).

No hook ups but the view makes up for that.

We drove our 45' Class A (towing a Suburban) without any issues.

Night sky is amazing.

Beautiful small campground. Amazing views. No ranger on duty while there Immaculate area, clean vault toilets, trash cans for each site. Only 2 other campers there each night. Camp right at the edge! The road in is nice and paved but tight and steep. We disconnected our tow car and scouted it ahead of time. Lots of cows als... more

This is very basic as far as campgrounds go but out of this world views. We chose to drive out a little from the main spots. It was a little rocky but doable. A rental RV tried to take the same path at 20mph which was fun to watch. Note on Internet if you have AT&T - The coverage here is pretty good but roaming so be careful as AT&... more

This is a great opportunity to camp directly on the rim of a canyon and the unique views of the twisting, turning San Juan river are worth the $10. It is $5 to enter without camping, so worth the extra $5 to spend the night. There are a few established campsites with picnic tables and fire rings. However, if you continue on the roc... more

We stayed three nights at Goosenecks State Park and absolutely loved the views! There are a few sites adjacent to the paved parking area, but most are spaced out along the rim on an unimproved dirt road. Smaller vehicles can make it all the way to the turnaround, but the views don’t get any better so for larger rigs the first couple s... more
