I used to be a river guide on the San Juan and we did a water resupply at Mexican Hat exactly once. The taste is so bad that it didn’t even make decent coffee. We never did that again. Get water in Bluff. Wonderful water from a completely different aquifer. Not sure where you can get it but it is worth the beautiful drive. Ask at K & C grocery. They have gas and diesel and have been there forever.

There is an Exxon station in Mexican Hat with a locked spigot which you can use for a nominal fee.

Confirm the Exxon Station having water. Only 7.7 miles to Gooseneck from Exxon.
