Minimal traffic when I stayed so very private. Quiet, cleanest pit toilet with an air freshener that smelled as good as fake vanilla gets- honestly the best part for 5nights.

No Verizon to speak of on my iPhone 8. Husband's iPhone has 3 bars on ATT. TMO 5g home has 38 down/17 up. Highway noise is actually not bad considering it is a stone's throw away. I would stay here again.

When heading west on 50 you take the exit go under and soon after turn left to go east on a gravel road. It’s not too far and you’ll see an opening with a pit toilet and what appears to be a circle camping spot. It almost looks like a place where the cowboys would tie up their horses on one end too.
There are shady spots as well as more sunny spots if you want to get good solar like me.
We had no service with Verizon, but a few more mins down the road we had service again (when we left)
You can hear the road but it’s not bad as there is a berm blocking it. Yes you will hear it but I would not complain personally.

Great spot, easy to access, with a 30 ft class C, quiet due to a hill/dirt bank between camping and freeway. Easy to find in the dark.

Convenient overnight stop along I-70. Motorhomes and non-4-wheel drive vehicles should avoid obvious sandy areas on north side of campground on either side last back-in site nearest interstate. Half-to-no bar Visible (Verizon) service; one sporadic one bar with weBoost.

We camped here one night on our way from CA to UT using Hwy 50. We needed a spot and I found this one on the Campendium app.
There were several other trailers there looking like short term and some longer term. We understand that it was an ATV Trailhead, but there were none out and about when we arrived (10/22/22) or by the time we left the next morning.
The campground is rough (scraggly bushes and trees), but like I mentioned in my title, the outhouse/restroom across from our site was exceptionally clean and well stocked with TP and there was no trash around the camping area that we noticed. We leveled our 19’ trailer in the back-in spot, and went out for a walk to stretch our legs. Used the frontage road which is between the entrance to the camping area and the hwy. Saw a bunch of cows and the creek that winds around the area (all the other sites looked to be on the edge of the creek). I made some dinner and then we had an early night.

I’m surprised that no previous reviewer mentioned that this is an ATV trailhead.
I arrived on a Friday late afternoon in early fall. And needing a spot for the night, I chose this site. It is small and confined, not to be confused with dispersed camping. It’s free-that’s the highlight.
I drove in to the last site, weaving around ATVs being driven by pre-teens with up to 4 kids on aboard.
It has decent pit toilets and a stream close by. It is adjacent to US-70, and obviously not quiet but it is reasonable.
A large group occupied 6 or 7 of the sites and were the owners of both the children and ATVs.
When dinner time rolled around, it got quiet and it appeared we would get some sleep and exit in the morning. But someone in the group thought karaoke at 11:30 would be a good idea. Fortunately, it didn’t last too long.
It was very quiet in the morning. I was up early, had coffee and a bite and was escorted by 4 small, unleashed, yapping dogs as I exited this place.
I did speak to one person not associated with the group that frequents this place and he remarked that the large-group scenario is not typical, so my experience will likely vary from yours. But be aware, this is an ATV trail head.
Happy trails!

I'm so happy to be here. Traveling east going towards Denver. My last campsite before stopping here was a parking lot with full hookups. So, being here was a blessing! Im in a pull through site with tree shade, a creek that runs behind and around this 6 site camping area three can accommodate huge rigs. Most sites are near level. Vault toilets at entrance, picnic tables, fire pits, and space between sites. ( posting pics).i have 5bars of 5g T-mobile. What could be a an inconvenience to some, but i choose to ignore it, is the interstate noise. And at night the insect world of noise, again i will ignore. The water noise from the creek is welcoming to me. There are a few flys, but no mosquitoes even with the water near by. Many trails from this spot for off-road vehicles, loading and unload area. Good views far and near. Please take care of this area, pack in pack out everything even dog poo. Its beautiful now lets help keep it that way!

The Gooseberry I-70 Trailhead is located about 8.8 miles east of Salina, Utah. In Salina at the junction of Main Street and State Street, head south on State Street for approximately 2 miles until you reach I-70. Turn right (east) onto I-70 east-bound from Salina, for approximately 6.5 miles. Exit I-70 at Gooseberry Road (Exit 63), and then turn right (south) on the Gooseberry Road for approximately 375 feet. Turn left on the frontage road and travel about 0.4 miles to the dispersed campsite / trailhead. Watch for signs.
