“Basic campground not too far from Pullman”

Those familiar with the Palouse region of Washington and Idaho will know that there are very few RV-friendly parks in reasonable distance from Washington State University in Pullman or University of Idaho in Moscow. Gone West helps to close this gap by offering basic amenities for RVers 15 - 20 minutes south of Pullman in tiny Uniontown, WA.
This very small, family-owned campground has no staff on site. Reservations and check in are done through their website, which can be accessed in a small shipping container-shaped office or via a browser on your mobile device.
Accommodations are a parking site on a gravel lot with 30 and 50 amp power, water, and sewer. No fire rings, picnic tables, or shade trees are provided. Sites are relatively close together, but with only 13 sites available, there aren't too many neighbors.
Accessibility was generally good. We parked our 30' Class A with a Jeep in tow without issue in campsite 8, which is a pull through. Upon arrival, we discovered there was no power available to the electrical post in our site, so we called the number on the website and left a message for the owners, then moved to site 7 where everything was in good working order. We received a call from the owner within an hour, and they came onsite and resolved the power issue in site 8.
The campground sits along US 195, which is surprisingly busy most of the day with loud truck traffic going between Spokane, WA and Lewiston, ID. Those that are affected by noise will want to bring along ear plugs.
Although very basic, the cost is reasonable for what is provided and is a welcome addition to the area. We frequent the area because our daughter attends WSU, so we will be back and stay again.
