Overall Rating
The Staff Was Friendly And The Sites Were Spread Apart And Level. However, The Reason For Only 3 Stars, They Do Not Allow Open Fires Or Charcoal BBQs. Wi-Fi Is Poor And No Cable.

We really enjoyed our stay at this park. I thought for the price it was just great. We have a 45 ft motorhome and the pull through site was a good size. The park has beautiful views of the mountains and a pretty little hiking trail! It was nice and quiet and conveniently right off I-80. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed for a week, the park was about 1/4 full. Yes it was March, yes it snowed, I’m guessing guessing they are a little more busy in the summer. Level paved spots, surrounded by mountains, wi-fi was consistent and strong. Super friendly hosts at check in, clean facilities.

We have stayed at two other parks in Reno, both were adequate but not enjoyable from the shear size to the size of the sites. We have stayed at two other parks in Reno, both were adequate but not enjoyable from the shear size to the size of the sites. Gold Ranch has very wide interior roads that make navigating easy with a toad. Sites are arranged nicely with a decent distance in-between. We had site 30 which was a pull in, motorhomes only. We had a view of the mountains to the west. The only drawback would be in the summer facing west the front windshield would have a lot of heat gain.
Management was very responsive and considerate. We did have a camper that was allowing their dog to run loose and management responded promptly. We asked if we could extend our stay if needed. We did need to stay one extra day. I was prepared to move the Bird, but they had blocked our site for a few more days. No need to move...that was very considerate. This may not have happened in their busy season, but it was a welcomed!
Only 15 minutes into downtown Reno. This will be our go-to when we are back in the area.

Loved this location, as we were close to Reno and shopping, but in a beautiful location with hills and a trail and a cute small town! We had a pull thru site, #51, which gave us plenty of room for our 38' motorcoach and toad. We had a nice shade tree to hang out under. We did a day trip to Virginia City which was very fun. Loved this location, as we were close to Reno and shopping, but in a beautiful location with hills and a trail and a cute small town! We booked 7 nights - when we arrived the office lady attempted to put us in a spot that was WAY to small for our rig and told us to park our truck in over flow parking (where you cannot see it) Even then, it was not big enough.. We booked 7 nights - when we arrived the office lady attempted to put us in a spot that was WAY to small for our rig and told us to park our truck in over flow parking (where you cannot see it) Even then, it was not big enough.. When we declined and said we pre-booked a week for our size rig so we’d like a spot big enough she acted as if WE were the problem and said “this is why you shouldn’t book online”
She then told us we could have a bigger spot but not the same one for the whole time - we’d have to move.. inconvenient but we said that was fine. She THEN said it would cost more because we wouldn’t be in the same spot for a week🤯 I politely said no - This wasn’t our fault, you all messed up and we shouldn’t have to pay more because of that. She said fine but was extremely rude about it…
She told us to come check before we moved to see if anyone cancelled and we could stay put.. when my husband went to check she was extremely rude and said “of course you still have to move - you booked online which messes everything up”
When you pay $400+ dollars to stay somewhere for a week you think they’d at minimum be courteous when THEY mess something up…
Overall I think it was a bit overpriced - the pool was small - the “casino” was disgusting and the cloud of cigarette smoke unbearable..
They get away with charging so much because it is a great location for going to Lake Tahoe AND Reno! Super conscientious for both!
Still.. we wouldn’t stay again nor would we recommend it. Spoke to several others who received the same customer service level we did so sounds more like the normal..

We stayed here twice with a break of 3 days in between. Sites 69 and 70 are separated by a large grassy area which seemed to be used by lots of dogs. Blacktop sites quite level. Although advertised sites are a specific price, no discount was actually applied for Good Sam or any others, but receptionist said it was ‘built in’ on the computer. Weekend prices are higher, like a hotel! If you use the laundromat, you will need to put in a $10 just for the electronic card, then you need to add money onto the card to use in the washers and dryers ($2.50 for 30 mi wash and same for 60 min dryer.) receptionist will refund your $10 if the card has an * on it, otherwise its a $5 refund. No other refunds if you still have money on the card. No where is this written at the laundromat….you just have to figure out why you got screwed on that first $10!! Casino has a restaurant, but food is mediocre at best. Did encounter a very long black snake, non poisonous, near office steps. Picnic tables are plastic coated and the sun has damaged some, use a towel for comfort. Bathrooms were clean. Water pressure was very low. Hubby did not use a filter when filling our fresh water tank and we did get a fair bit of sandy sediment in the tank. They have wifi, but it kept dropping.

Stayed 4 nights. Would loved to stay longer.
Site 88 - an end lot with a large grassy area & beautiful direct views of the snow capped mountains.
Nice & quiet with an occasional passing train.

This is our second time here. First was last October. Sites are clean and well spaced out. Nice views of the mountains. The staff in the office has both times been very nice to deal with.
Only negative note is the wifi needs to be improved.
