There is some fairly new playground equipment that our kids loved. There is also a commercial building on site that had some employees going back forth each day which we liked because otherwise we were the only ones there... besides some local teenagers that dropped by at about 10pm one night. We ran our generator as needed. It's a little far from Casper. The bathrooms were not pretty. The freeway can definitely be heard but it didn't bother us. There is a creek that runs by but I wouldn't swim in it. We had no issues with mosquitoes although there a lot of flies.
We preferred this over many paid sites. It was nicer than our site in the Tetons.

Drive hours across grasslands thinking you will never see a tree again, and then when you see a small patch of trees you will have arrived at Glenrock. Though the name of the city park is the Glenrock South Recreation Complex, it’s more of a slightly abandoned city park. There are bathrooms (with door codes nobody knows), randomly scattered water pumps, dumpsters, and what looks to be both a rodeo arena and baseball diamond. There are about 5 or 6 concrete pads for camping, and when we arrived on a Monday, the place was deserted. However the shade from the trees, the small brook nearby, and the free access to water made this an amazing location to boondock. Just a 5 minute drive to Glenrock proper, and a half an hour to Casper, this stay would be fine for both tent camping as well as big rigs.
Rating: 9/10 for the vampiric mosquitos.

This location is open as of June 2019. There are only a few "campsites" here, maybe 5. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel which is 12'6" tall. Most of the sites are shaded by trees which are not cut back or haven't been in a while. As a result we could not fit in any site without trees branches blocking our way. (The sites do have concrete pads that are very short). We got lucky and a local family was camped there and told us to park in the open spot by the river. Worked just fine and we were level with no bricks. Didn't even unhitch. All in all it was a nice spot with deer roaming through. Also, the area appears to be very RV friendly. Casper, WY has free dump stations and potable water available. I think they want some tourist dollars. In addition to ball parks, rodeo arena, picnic and playground, there are 5 camping pads. The pads are small but level. We camped with our 36 foot Seneca and toad, had no trouble navigating even though roads are a bit narrow. The only negative was the highway noise but even that does not detract.

Nice little campground next to the ball park. Follow the GPS. Locals walking their dogs and traffic hum from I25 but you can’t beat free.

Follow the coordinates in Campendium, (super easy to find) the area circles twice, with several cut thru gravel roads. There are 4 fresh water pumps (city water) trash bins on every corner. And tho several reviews were negative due to the proximity of the highway, we found it very comfortable white noise for sleeping since there's no T.V. on! This time of year in the rec area there's no one here! Room for doggies to run and play (some of the locals even came by with several doggies for ours to play with). Deer creek and paths that lead to and around it are a great mid- day walk to stretch those legs before hitting the open roads, again!

My partner and I camped here for 2 nights on our way to Yellowstone. It was great because we wanted to break up the drive and Wyoming doesn't allow you to overnight at rest areas. I gave it 5 stars because it really checks all the boxes for a free campground. We felt very safe and happy staying there, and would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Pros:
There's water available so you can fill up before picking your spot.
It's remote and relatively quiet.
There's a lot of trees, so you can find a shaded spot.
Gravel spots large enough for bigger rigs--we had a full-shade spot that fit a 30' travel trailer and our truck.
The local police drive through a few times a day as part of their patrol, so it stays safe and clean. We felt comfortable unhitching and heading into town.
There is a rodeo arena as part of the recreation complex, so we got to see a roping competition and enjoy all the horses that showed up.
Picnic tables and bbq grill.
You can stay for up to 5 days!
Cons:
Some highway noise. Overall it's not bad, but you do hear trucks hitting the rumble strip and a semi had a blowout that sounded like a gunshot.
Tons of mosquitoes!! We had to be super adamant about opening and closing the RV door very fast, and we couldn't spend much time outside unless wearing pants and long sleeves (or you can douse yourself in bug repellent).
We had basically no cell service, even when we turned on roaming and tried connecting to the local carrier.
If you're bothered by noise at all, just a heads up that people do ride ATVs in the area. It wasn't often or at bad hours, so it didn't bother us at all.

On a Monday night we practically had the place to ourselves and just camped in the playground's parking lot as it was less skeetery than the actual sites, and we've got kids. So out the door and down the slide in the morning. Another family ended up camping at a picnic area and our teenage son set up hos tent near some working outlets at the big red pavilion.
Police drove through several times and didn't seem to mind these choices.
Definitely noisy, but not from other campers. The wood chips at the playground were impressively fresh. Garbage cans no doubt helped contribute to the lack of litter. Great work Wyoming!
