There is large grass areas and even a small creek for you or your pets to play in! As well as a small kids park area. Very nice area, level cement pads for your camper with room for tow vehicles! About 9 camping spots but not crowded - when we stayed here we only saw 2 other campers. Only open during the spring/Summer months and you can only stay 5 days at a time. Dogs allowed - we keep our dogs leashed but some locals come with there dogs that are not leashed so you have to be careful of that. Wildlife viewing in the area is also great! We got to see turkey, deer, antelope and some free range horses. Police/Sheriff often come drive through the park about 3-5 times a day so it is nice and gives a sense of safety! These is also several large trash cans for your trash!
The only downsides to this location is that there seems to be a mosquito and horse fly problem! Bring your bug spray and mosquito nets! Also you can hear the traffic from the interstate but its not too bad.

You can hear the interstate traffic but its not a stand out. The tree limbs look intimidating but we had zero issues with branches. Watch for skunks if you let the dogs run. I gave it 4 stars only because of the bugs. Thank you for the campsite Glenrock!

However, there is a serious mosquito problem anywhere near the creek. I had to slather repellent from head to toe to keep from being bit. Even so, they still swarmed around my face.
If that’s not bad enough there is a huge population of some type of moth. Thousands of these things constantly flying around and getting into every nook and cranny of our 35ft motorhome. When we had the windows open they could get between the screen seal and into the RV!
There is a nice playground for the kids and also potable water is available all over the park.
The sites are pretty level concrete pads as well.
The highway noise can be heard during the day but didn’t bother us during the night.
As another reviewer said it’s excellent for an overnighter but not easy to enjoy with all the bugs (at least this time of year).
We didn’t try using our AT&T because Verizon was excellent with 40meg down and 6 up

This is not a bad FREE campsite. There's 6 sites, and we had no issues parking our 40ft fifth wheel in a site. We picked out a shady site thinking that it would save our AC all the work. This is not a bad FREE campsite. There's 6 sites, and we had no issues parking our 40ft fifth wheel in a site. We picked out a shady site thinking that it would save our AC all the work. However it was right next to a creek that had a ton of standing water. Within minutes we were swarmed by the mosquitoes. And swarmed was an understatement. The park was nice for the kids and there were some cool equestrian facilities and baseball fields. But being eaten alive by the bugs made it hard to enjoy the park.
Being Free makes it a great overnight stop while passing through. But to enjoy the area you'll need a bug spray fogger.

This was a good stay. We were the only ones camping . My only complain is that there was no water available. They should have a sign at the entrance letting campers know. It was hard to find water, any campgrounds near by did not wanted to help even at an extra charge . BBQ pots available and a nice creek at the back. Sides are level.

We recently stayed at the Glenrock South Recreation Complex. It's 5 minutes from Glenrock and 30 minutes from downtown Casper (super cute BTW).
The park was clean, quiet (minus noise from the freeway - NBD for us), had great amenities (great cell service, BBQ, water, trash, and vault toilets), and hardly anyone was there except for a few big rigs. There's a small playground, little league fields, and a rodeo. Best of all, it's FREE. Our stay was so peaceful. I highly recommend!

We stayed Saturday night July 18, 2020. First the negatives: mosquitos; next to Hwy 25; locals partying in all but one of the sites (ours) until midnight; no dump station; 3G on T-Mobile. 🙁 We planned to stay Saturday night through Monday morning because we needed a good rest and needed to catch up on some work requiring internet, and by all appearances it was a lovely site on a level cement pad with a picnic table with water spigots close by and grass and big trees - and we needed the dump station mentioned by another reviewer (that was a really long sentence 😀). The dump station does not exist - we looked everywhere. We ended up using the dump station at the Maverik west of town the next day. We could have put up with the negatives if it wasn’t for 3G that often gave us one or no bars (using 3G that drops in and out ranks pretty high on the pain scale 😀). I rode my bike around the area surrounding the park and that was quite enjoyable in this rural, lush setting surrounded by open space and farmland. And we BBQed and sat outside and enjoyed the setting until the mosquitoes drove us inside (where we spent the next while swatting the ones that followed us in). We got the onboard water we needed for the night and next day and found the party crowd got up early to play co-ed softball at the ballfields in the park - and that was fun to watch. All in all we’d probably stay here again if it wasn’t for the 3G. After all, it was free.

We stopped in just looking for a place after leaving Yellowstone and heading towards Nebraska. After getting off the highway and down the main road of town, I was a little skeptical about the location as the turn off the main road was on a deserted road. Dropped the toad and drove it back. Turns out to be a great location for a city park just outside of the city. Very nice park with two baseball fields and a rodeo area. There are picnic areas and room for six RVs. Very level concrete pads with picnic tables. No electricity and water spigots nearby. Don’t pass this up if in the area. Only drawback is the mosquitoes. Near the highway but not bad.
