For the $50 permit I wouldn't waste your money. The dunes are neat to see. After you ride for an hour it all just feels the same. All the OHVs are riding all hours of the night. The train goes by every 30 minutes. Super disrespectful people. They go super fast through your camp flinging up sand and exhaust. I'll never come back here.

BLM Land but $50 permit required because the area is used by dune buggies, motorcycles, etc.
Fairly calm on a week night. We only stayed because someone who was leaving gave us their permit.

This is very basic camping - designed for the dune buggy crowd - It can get very noisy, especially on weekends or holidays. Not much in the way of amenities except toilets. The setting is beautiful, but if you are looking for a nice quiet family outing in the desert, this is not for you.

This is a very basic spot for the Dune Buggy crowd. The area is glorious desert, but if you want a quiet zone - this is not for you. This is an even bigger issue during holiday periods.
There are washrooms, but not much else.
