“Great secluded boondocking... **bridge is out**”

Stayed here for Thanksgiving 2020 in the site across the river. It's a very quiet time of year, so I can't comment on what summer is like. The entire area was a foot deep in fallen leaves... absolutely beautiful and so relaxing. Visited the area in June 2021 on a Saturday and no one was there at all, so I'm sure it is hit and miss on occupancy. There appears to be a total of 5-6 sites...more if people come together in groups as a couple of them are large. Most are right on the river. The locals and offroaders pass through frequently during the day but not enough to seem "busy", and everyone was friendly. I have a 28' TT, and 3 of the sites are big enough. If you're good towing and backing, most of them are... but probably better to have less than a 25'. There are no cell, tv or radio signals here. There are no trash receptacles, and no restrooms. PLEASE pack out what you bring in!

NOTE: When we visited in June, the concrete bridge was mostly washed out from a flood event and can only be crossed with very small vehicles. I wouldn't cross it on anything bigger than a motorcycle myself, much less 4 tons of truck and trailer. This only rules out the 1 large site on the other side. As long as you come in from the Gladwin side, all of the other sites are accessible.

“Secluded Dispersed Camping on the Cheat River”

Visited the Gladwin Dispersed Camping Area located within the Monongahela National Forest in Tucker County, West Virginia in May 2020. This free 14 day camping area has no facilities and trash is pack it out. I located no less than four RV friendly dispersed campsites at this location, several with spectacular views of the Cheat River. In addition, a small level dirt parking area is available adjacent to a flat forested area along the Cheat River. This location has several stone fire rings for walk-in tent camping. This area is also suitable for kayak launch. Hiking is available on the 287.81 mile north-south Allegheny Trail that passes through the Gladwin Dispersed Camping Area. Just follow the yellow blazes. Hiking maps for the trail are available through the West Virginia Scenic Trail Association which administers the trail. There is no AT&T or Verizon cellular service at this location. Generally, the paved public roads providing access to this camping location are narrow and are not big rig friendly. Grid coordinates are as follows: 39.0072040, -79.5490170

BRIDGE OUT 6/5/21... the bridge running across the river to the large campsite is mostly washed out as well as part of the road leading to it. Locals on ATV's and motorcycles can cross, but anything larger would be very risky as the underside of the concrete is hollowed out from rushing water. All of the areas from LivingOurDreamNow's video on the entry side of the bridge are fine.
