Very nice campground and friendly staff. However train was very loud at 3, 4 and 6 a.m. might be a little better on the other side or lower on the hill.
Verizon LTE at 4 bars but spotty data service. I think there are too many people on the tower. It did work good at 3 and 4 am though

Nice wooded spot. We opted for electric only but the best sites are water and electric. Feels cozy. The front desk staff are really friendly and the bathroom facilities are decent. Really hot water! Would stay here anytime.

Close to the west entrance of Glacier National Park. There is so much to do in Glacier NP there's no limit. We saw Black bear, Grizzlies, Mountain goats, Eagles, Deer, beavers, and more. Fly fishing in the lakes is so calming, relax & enjoy. Amazing place wish we stayed longer.
Depending what time of year enjoy Huckleberries they are the best.
Glacier Distillery is up the road, they have great liquors, tastings we sat outside on the deck. We ate at wandering Gringo's was good, Pizza in Flathead/Coram it was good, The Kitchen (local food).
We went to the Many Glacier side of the park one day it's a drive from the campground but different. The road going in was so bad full of potholes and just bad road. So glad we weren't towing the trailer. We did see Grizzlies on the side of the mountain where we parked at the swift current trail out on the street that's where the Grizzlies were. Nice hike around the lake.
Saw a Black Bear at Avalanche lake swimming, and walking the shoreline. Logan's pass (so beautiful) lots of Mountain Goats on the Hidden lake trail and a spectacular view. On the path there are so many wildflowers, little waterfalls, just beautiful. The roads are very narrow and winding in the park. We pulled the mirrors in so you don't hit rock wall or another truck. Going to the sun road say's it all.
Great antiquing in Columbia Falls. Really cool places.

Based on the recommendation of a local, we checked out Glacier Campground. The owners are great people and they welcomed us, even though they were trying to close up for the season.
The sites are large, wooded, and private. This is a more park-like experience than many NPS campgrounds where I have stayed.
We could hear the noise from the adjacent property, which is an event venue type of place, but it was more humorous than anything.
You are a very short drive to the park from this campground and have easy access to Kallispel. I had strong Verizon, here and wifi is available close to the camp office.

They have a dump station with potable water so that was fine. 3 bars of Verizon, however, it was very spotty. Facilities were ok, could use a facelift but again it’s a great find so close to Glacier and the people were great!!
There are trains with horns but that’s pretty common. The Amtrak also goes by. Pretty cool.

The camp is nicely wooded. Roads are pretty busy and lots of dust. The cafe onsite was really good. Open for breakfast and lunch.

Excellent owners! Older camp that needs updating. Had low pressure water issues. Camp kept very clean. Sites were a little tight to get into. Overall a good place to camp. Less than 2 miles from Glacier National Park.

This campground is my fall back when I am unable to get a campsite IN Glacier Park. The sites are located in a wooded area on a hill. Most of the sites are extremely unlevel so be sure to have lots of leveling blocks at your disposal. The sites are packed pretty close together so privacy is minimal. The bathrooms are conveniently located throughout the camp and are cleaned daily. They are a little on the outdated side and could use a remodel but they are adequate. The staff will pick up any garbage you have in the morning, you just leave the bagged trash along the road and they will drive by and pick it up - since the area is frequented by bears this practice is a little strange to me and having central dumpsters available for trash would make more sense. Tables and fire rings are in each campsite. There are water taps throughout the camp as well. Some sites have electric service if you want to pay extra for it. All in all a decent camp.
The biggest drawback to camping here is the noise. Traffic along Highway 2 can be loud at night. And there are train tracks just beyond the highway that see a lot of traffic as well - nothing like a train horn blaring at 3am to get your attention.
The camp does take reservations for large groups and it may be worth asking who all is camping that night before you commit to staying here. The camp staff doesn't enforce any sort of curfew or quiet hours so when large groups are camping here it can get pretty rowdy.
Biggest bonus to the camp is that even if you are not a registered guest you can use the shower facilities for a small fee - $5 - just stop in at the office and they'll give you a pass for the showers.

Glacier Campground is really convenient to Glacier National Park's west entrance. We stayed in two different spots. The first was really challenging to get into, and was essentially right on top of the neighbor with no trees in between. We also had issues with the fuse blowing several times at this site. I would not recommend site F11. However, site H9 had more space and privacy, and no fuse issues. The campground has a decent laundry facility and nice showers. The restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch on site is separate from the campground and delicious! Foodie delicious. The campground had some cute cottages that they also rented and there were some tent campers too. It had much more personality than your typical RV park, especially given the woods in which it was nestled. There is wifi at the restaurant and in the campground lobby area.

We cannot recommend this campground highly enough! Even the mosquitoes aren't as big as the ones in Minnesota!! And, if you like dogs, bring a big bone for Otis, The Wonder Dog.
Thanks for everything; we'll be back next time we're in the area.
