Gilbert Ray makes a good base camp for exploring the Tucson environs. The park does not take reservations so it pays to come in early and on a weekday. One of the most beautiful spots we've been to in all of our travels. Sites are spacious and private with electric hookups, but no water. Amazing trail system for mountain biking and hiking right outside your door. Close to Tucson without being too close. We can see why there's a 7 day stay limit - we might have moved in!
