Gifford Pinchot State Park

Nice state park with friendly staff. Camped in a conversion van in a non electric site which was almost level, large and quite private. Warning that water spigots are not threaded and a number of no electricity sites will not fit a van or small camper (steep grade and/or too short) so look closely at descriptions. I had to park at an angle to fit on the paved area and the tent area was inaccessible for drive in.
Bathrooms are essentially clean but in serious need of a renovation Did shower and it worked but not very nice at all. Lake is lovely though!

Our site had electric and a view of the lake. Some site are quite small, so check pics before you book.

We were self contained so didn't use bathrooms.

There were several hiking trails accessible from the campsite. We hiked the Lake trail along the entire lake that was 9 miles.

Firewood from the campground was wet, but it was closing weekend. Would like to go back in the summer to kayak and use lake.

Spent the night here before the RV Show in Hershey. Quite a pleasant surprise. Quiet campground, lake views, small beach for swimming and relaxing. Very few post-Labor Day campers. EZ self check in. Price reflects senior discount and non-electric site rates. Check photos to find sites with good views (loop A 114, 115, 116) and ones that meet your rig size needs.
Bathrooms kind of dated and clean enough, but not pristine. Shower water hot and free. Dishwash station at bathouse. About half an hour from Hershey, a great stay choice for the show.

A nice state park that seems popular with local campers. The sites are well spaced and are paved and level. There are limited sites with electric, and they fill up first. Some of the non electric sites were very nicely located and were empty while we were there. We did here a generator running in the morning somewhere. Close hiking & biking trails to the campground connect to the day use area about a quarter mile away. Some aspects of the park are run down a bit, but all in all a nice place.

Area and lake is beautiful and peaceful. Some mosquitoes, not bad. Some electric sites, some nicely paved, some uneven gravel. Most seemed fairly level. Camping loops are separated for pets and no pets so pay attention when you make a reservation.

Bathrooms were kind of spooky, very old and in need of repair. Some sites fairly close together, some with vegetation blocking neighbors, some not.

Only trash cans are way at the entrance, so basically have to drive to dump trash. For over 300 sites. Very inconvenient and makes it difficult for campers to keep a clean site so critters don’t get into garbage.

Stayed here 10/15 – 10/16/20. The site we stayed in did not have any hookups however there are electric only and full hookup sites available. There were many different options for choosing your campsite type. There are fresh water spigots throughout the campground and a multi lane dump station. Our site had a picnic table and fire ring as well as access to the water’s edge from the back of the campsite and was in walking distance of the beach. This was a nice family-oriented park with many activities and amenities.
