“This Place Is Amazing! Big Sites, Beautiful, Super Clean! ”

We loved it here. We would stay in nicer camps even with higher prices every time if we could. Absolutely loved it here. River sites were great but others are as well. Very friendly, well kept. 5 stars for sure!

We stayed here for one week and really enjoyed the location on the Avenue of Giants! The people working at the office were helpful and had lots of maps and pamphlets for the area. The laundry room and bathrooms/showers were very clean and well maintained! There are plenty of big-rig friendly sites and ample space between sites. And you're right on the river, so the view is beautiful! The road that goes through Myers Flat to the entrance of the park is a little bit sketchy, but very short, so I wouldn't let that scare you away. I would definitely stay here again!

We got a reservation a few weeks ahead of time and check in was seamless. Spots had good space between occupants. Nice location by river. Neighborhood outside the camp was not too nice and the price was on the high side. Good WIFI that worked to stream a soccer match.
I’d stay here again.

We asked for a spot near the restroom. We were sent to a spot far away from the restroom near a pretty dilapidated RV with a knocked down attached porch which looked like it had been parked there awhile and may have been abandoned. There were only a couple of people in the park so changing spots should have been easy. We did get moved after a long discussion because the staff insisted they only had three spaces left. The camp was about 3/4 empty and remained so. We felt very uncomfortable and was happy to leave in the morning.

A little pricey, but they spaced people out the best they could. Check in was quick and easy, nice little onsite store, s’mores bags for guests and firewood ($10 bundle). Sites #38 and #41 are beautifully set between some tall redwoods. Nice grassy volleyball area. Only downside was the narrowness of the pull thru (full hookup) sites. I like to spread out.

Approach the campground via Myers Avenue; do not use Boy Scout Road like our Garmin wanted us to (we got driving directions from the campground when we made our reservation). The campground is on the outer edge of the tiny town of Myers Flat, next to the Eel River. It’s far enough from Highway 101 that you don’t hear any road noise.
The campground is bisected by the road into the campground. We stayed on the right side, which has two rows of pull-through sites (one with full hookups, the other with just water and electric) and one row of back-in sites overlooking the river. Our side had a bathhouse with laundry room and outdoor sink, a self-serve woodshed where you could drop cash in a drop box and carry off a bundle, and the office, which contains a small store with small souvenirs and locally-produced food items.
The left side of the campground also has a combination of pull-through and back-in sites with just water and electric, as well as several cabins. Amenities on that side of the park include a dog park, a small playground, an outdoor movie theatre with concession stand (which were in operation the Saturday night we were there), one bathhouse with laundry machines similar to the one in the right section, plus a building with individual bathroom and shower rooms, a dumper, and the dump station.
But the main amenity of the campground is the river. There is a short 50-ft access road off of the main campground road situated between a beach-style rinsing shower and a grass volleyball court that you can use to drive or walk to the shoreline. Even though the river level was likely pretty low during our stay, there is a section deep enough for swimming/bathing, and we saw a number of families headed down there with swim gear and floatation devices.
We had site 18, located in the middle row of pull-throughs in the right section, which generally had more space between them than the full hookup sites (though the site spacing in general wasn’t all that consistent). All the sites have gravel pads and grass yards, along with a picnic table and fire ring. Most of the sites throughout the campground get some shade from a tree or two, except for the back-in sites overlooking the river. The only negative about our site was the pair of trees bracketing the front end of our site: we pulled out through the vacant site in front of ours rather than try and the turn make needed to exit our site with our 37-foot fifth wheel (had the site been occupied, we probably could have backed out). The water pressure was on the low side, but that was probably true for everybody.
We had plenty of places to walk our dogs other than the dog park. While there is a market in town that sells some grocery items, you’ll want to stock up on supplies before you arrive if you’re staying for a week or more, as it’s quite a drive to any serious grocery store.
In terms of cell service, the best speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna the Sunday we arrived was about 5Mbps down and 2Mbps up. But the bandwidth varied: most days I had enough bandwidth to work, and some (but not all evenings) we could stream video with some buffering and pixelation. The bandwidth on my AT&T phone was usually better: my one speed test showed 60Mbps down and 4 up. The WiFi offered by the campground was actually great for web surfing, with 8Mbps down and 6Mbps up, and it worked perfectly the few times I used it.
We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
