Got there and chose a sight. Then started looking around. There was so much glass on the ground that I was afraid to let my dog out of the truck. I did not stay.

We picked this area to get away from the winter weather in the White Mountains for a few days. There are spots for all types of camping from tents to larger rigs. A few cautions though - if it is or has been raining recently you can anticipate deep, slick muck which may be difficult to navigate. We drive a 4WD truck and did not venture too far in on the first night due to the depth of the mud. The site we moved to the following day is secluded and quite (second right off Cemetery road, beyond the AZ State Trust Land sign) and from this site it looked and felt like we were alone in the wilderness. Most sites do have lovely views toward the mountains on one side, however with houses, a mining site visible from the other. Nights here are super quiet. Daylight hours ... not so much. There is a train that can be heard at least once a day and if the fighter pilots are practicing - they will rattle the windows in your rig. That being said, we had a lovely time climbing and hiking with our dogs and would likely stay here again but probably only for an overnight stop.

Stayed one night with no issues. The road at the site has a couple of wash ruts about 2-4 feet wide but it’s manageable. If you’re coming through this way, check it out.

Not many atv trails though but nice walking options. Wickenburg is not too far for your food and other needs.
Took a drive to Prescott and Chino Valley from here and that road up the mountain is awesome but do not go with a big rig. The drive back and the views were beautiful.

I camped down the 4x4 trail in 2 spots, the last was right next to a mine with the most awesome views and no neighbors.

Nice boondocking spot, quiet, great sunrise over the mountains. Stop at Rambling Dan Bar and Grill a little north of Congress AZ for a good meal.

Very easy place to find not far off the main roads thru the area. I found a flat large site with a fire pit very quickly. I was able to put some distance between myself and others boondocking, I like to do that so I can walk my dog without a leash, and the cat follows too! I could hear quail and coyote in the distance. I was able to put some distance between myself and others boondocking, I like to do that so I can walk my dog without a leash, and the cat follows too! I could hear quail and coyote in the distance. Lots of good vegetation around like saguaro and other cactus, small trees. I would think it would be too hot here in summer as not much shade to speak of but very comfortable now.

Rolling from Vista Ca to Valley of The Gods. Since we were going through Prescott and Sedona we stopped here. Good dispersed camping overlooking a valley. No close neighbors. Fairly flat pads. Rock fire rings. We stayed all the way up against the mountain. Lots of quail and other birds. Verizon 4G with three bars.

There's simply no cell coverage here. I came because reviews stated there was some sort of Verizon signal. Nope! Big X on my bars, no matter where I went.
It's beautiful and historic, but if you need to use internet or phone on Verizon, find a different place to camp.
