“Outstanding camping and hiking”

Due to a local strong reputation for a Provincial Park we could not miss, we made reservations five months in advance and got the last available site. We were not disappointed. The campground was occupied by serious campers, mostly tenters. They were there, as we were for the beauty and recreation. It is dry camping only but with excellent facilities for bathing and washing clothes. The hiking trails were some of the most enjoyable we have encountered. The beauty and natural geology was well worth the strenuous climbing. Our campsite left a little to be desired. We were parked on a drainage pipe with not enough room for a safe campfire. (See photo). But that was the exception. Other sites were beautiful. The evenings were quiet with few families, mostly serious campers. We were serenaded by guitar playing and singing. After a stop and dump station off site we headed home from a perfect rest. Don't bother going to Killarney for the Fish and Chips, they were very mediocre.

The price above includes the Ontario Seniors Discount and HST. We visited the park at the beginning of October just as the leaves were turning. The colours against the white rocks were stunning - it felt like the perfect time to visit.
The website didn’t recommend the campground for rigs over 32 feet. - we stayed in a pull thru site and just fit. There were no issues navigating the roadway but I would not want to be much bigger. The pull thrus were nice - not overly wide but with bushes between sites - with a fire pit and 2 picnic tables. There are no hookups but other than quiet hours there were no restrictions on generators. There were a number of sites that overlooked the lake that were gorgeous. Although they are more geared for tents there were a handful that would accomodate an RV.
The hiking was wonderful - the “Crack” is a must do for the views and the fun scramble. The Chikansishing River Trail was shorter with a bit of history and views of the water. The town of Killarney was only a short car ride (or about 1 hr round trip on bikes) and offered some shopping and food.
It is a long drive from the highway to the park and it is very popular. -reservations are a must.
