There were still plenty of spots available during a weeknight stay in March. Lovely open field and some wooded sites. Dirt roads into the area and sites are dirt. Rutted a bit from previous users and could be muddy if it had rained. Very quiet and peaceful. We would have stayed longer but had reservations at the Grand Canyon.

We arrived well after dark and were able to find a site. It is very dark at night. I would recommend arriving before dark. No hookups available. But the cost is $0. It was peaceful and quiet. Beautiful sunrise. We stayed only one night on the way to the Grand Canyon, but would have stayed longer if we didn't have reservations. About 35 minutes drive to Flagstaff, but maybe 5-10 minutes to the town of Williams which has restaurants and route 66 souvenirs.

Lots of room for lager rigs in the big field.
Good cell.
Some air t.v.
Close to Williams. But 35 minutes to flag Walmart.
A dumpster at each highway rest area to dump at.
Cooler summers at 7000 feet.
Some wildlife.
No one patrolling long term camping.

Mother nature gave us a little bit of snow, but no problem getting out absolutely beautiful area.

If you continue to the left, there are plenty of spots. We have a 35’ fifth wheel. The road was somewhat rough but totally doable. We joked that it was better than traveling east on I40 to Flagstaff. If you’ve driven that route, you’ll understand.

Every other dispersed camping and lakeside camping area was flooded by the melt-off. This was a beautiful area, not flooded, lots and lots of places available to camp. Nice open vistas, safe. At night we could hear I-40 very faintly, not enough to be disturbing.

We took a side road just a short ways and were able to pitch our tent and have a whole area just to ourselves. It was beautiful!
No trash at all, very well kept area. Highly recommend! Anyone could find a suitable spot here easily.
The only downside was we had zero cell service on both Verizon and AT&T.

Many many spaces. Road in was very well groomed. Lots of campers but all spread out. Pretty rolling hills, open fields and trees here and there. Close to Williams, rt 64 and rt 40. Thank you national forest land!
