It's just a road with dispersed camping, no charge or rules that I have ever seen. About 1 mile down is a dog boarding kennel and about 5 miles down where Gardner Canyon Rd forks to the right (and many more camping spots) is where Boulder Crest AZ is located to the left (gated). People (military vets and family members) live there for short stays and are getting support after deployment. Coping strategies, nutritional support, good things after bad things have happened. So the road doesn't close.
