Garcia River Casino

I arrived after dark, around 8. Parked at the back because of the reviews I read. I sleep in a car. I went inside. Saw no security. Asked the cashier. She nicely called security. I said I wanted to camp and he nicely had me fill out a paper and photocopied my license. Told me a bunch of stuff about the premises. Told me it was 1 day max, but could just wait 24 hours and then come again if I wanted. Told me there were bobcats and stuff. I got some fries because I’m vegan and there wasn’t much there for me. I suppose I could have asked them to customize something. Couple Mike’s lemonades. $5 a piece. Fries were about $5. I didn’t gamble. The lot was mega quiet, after the Friday happenings stopped happening. The happenings weren’t loud in the lot, but the dj could be heard playing. It’s 7:45 AM now. I didn’t ask what time we had to leave. Wish I did. I’ll ask next time. I wonder if we get a whole 24 or maybe just 9am. I enjoyed myself. Leftover fries for breakfast. Hope this helped 😁

This was a clean and safe place to park with no amenities other than a really fun time. Super quiet and secluded area, plenty of level space for our 34’ Class A. Everyone at the casino was very friendly. We just had to fill out a quick form and parking was free all night. The casino is nonsmoking with video poker and slot machines but no table games. The bar and grill has several televisions, affordably priced beer, and very tasty cheeseburgers. Verizon signal was weak, but the area felt safe enough that it didn’t matter. We enjoyed Garcia River Casino and recommend it as an overnight dry camp/ date night.

This was my first official vanlife night and I was very pleased. The parking lot was quiet (mostly; I was there on a Mon night). It's not large but there were no other overnighters there.

The spot was level. The weather: mild and windy at the end of August.

The scenery around it is pretty and the people working there were extremely nice. I did have cell service.

Later in the eve I did see a car parked across the street with it's lights on for the entire time I walked my dog and right after it left a truck screeched down the hill with no lights on. Both seemed a little sketchy but the casino has cameras in the parking lot and I felt safe. Plus there was no noise after that.

I really enjoyed it there and would totally go back! It was a nice little oasis reprieve.

I stayed on a Tuesday night so the casino was not busy, the gentlemen from security had me fill out a form and scanned my ID (took all of three mins) and asked that I park towards the back of the lot. The casino's hours as of 06/15/21 are 2pm-9:30pm. I was the only car in the lot from 9:45 until i left in the morning. Super quiet area, and the parking lot has a camera and lights at night. I'm a carcamper (Hyundai Tuscon), but from what I could tell they didn't have hookups for rigs. Overall would definitely stay again, the staff was super friendly and I felt safe overnight. Cell service was a spotty extended signal through verizon. Could call/text, but no streaming.

Arrived 4pm on a week night. Although a small parking lot, it is big-rig friendly. Register with Security in the casino (photo ID), paved well-lit parking lot, fairly flat, felt semi-safe, signs read 'video surveillance' throughout the parking lot, nice grill and bar inside with clean restrooms, very friendly staff throughout casino. Quiet throughout the night. We faced away from the casino on the very end of the south parking lot. One night maximum. We enjoyed our overnight here and thoroughly appreciated the ease and friendliness of the staff. This is a great stopover for $0. I would highly recommend patronizing the place if you stay here. After all, it's the least we can do...

After some of the crazy hoop jumping we had to do at some of the other casinos along the coast, this small casino was a refreshing change. Easy registration at security and no requirement to gamble. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food that came out! Awesome chef!

This is a small casino so unfortunately there is no non-smoking area. However, it wasn't terribly busy when we were there and as a result, the smoke wasn't too bad while we were at the restaurant.

Beautiful views from the parking lot. We were asked to park at the far end which was fine with us. Its right next to the road but it is a quiet road so that wasn't a problem. The casino is a short drive in from the coast but worth it.

Excellent free spot along the Pacific coast - hopefully they will hang on to their great chef!
Pretty sure there was cell signal. Wifi in the casino too.
