Gales Creek Campground

I can't add much to what's been said except a couple general things about camping in Tillamook SF. First, don't go to the Forest Center in hopes of getting info on available sites. Each campground operates on its own and there is no central source of that information. If you're coming from the east, stop first at Gales Creek to see if they have anything. T1 is usable for a class B RV like ours although technically a tent site. Jones Creek is the largest but was booked solid by 10am on a Friday with people staying over from Thursday. The campgrounds are far apart so I suggest you take the first suitable site you find as you're likely to drive 10 miles to a "better" spot only to find it booked. In late July these campgrounds are crazy busy even though the area is pretty remote.
Super nice campground host told us that in 2024 there may be logging trucks coming through this campground so check beforehand!

Campground was nice, forest and creek/stream were beautiful, outhouse was clean, and camp host (Chuck) was friendly and very knowledgeable regarding the campground and the area in general. The entry road is gravel and has a few holes/dips that you need to navigate so go slowly. We have a 21’ trailer and had no trouble getting trailer and truck in our spot on the B Loop…site B2. We did not check out the A loop so maybe it has larger spots??? No cell service but would definitely stay here again if we’re ever back this way.

Really wanted to get away for a few days but couldn't go far. This was 30 minutes away and heaven!! Sites are 1st come and had 4 sites to choose from on Thursday afternoon. Full shortly after arriving. There are 3 sites for no longer than 30ft, no hookups, pump water, clean toilets....nice and quiet! 2 campsites have river access. Host was really nice. Too bad only open thru October. No cell service.
