Overall Rating
Towards the end of August (we residents) start to get Alaska to ourselves again. It's also our favorite time of year up here.
We came to Gakona RV Park so we could talk a tour of our government's controversial HAARP facility that's about 7 miles away.
Their property was clean and well taken care of. The large grass lawn and playgrounds is something you don't see very often. The cell service was adequate and improved with boosting.
If you're on your way out of Alaska and need to do some laundry, dump and fill tanks, and prepare for the trip back this is your place.
You are in the middle of nowhere though, but to some of us that's a good thing.
