Separate parking from semi trucks - trains passing but no honking - very good AT&T

Rest stop right along I-10. It’s got picnic tables and restrooms. A lot of traffic.

Free, lots of room at each site, picnic table, covered pavilion and outdoor light at each site. Noise is the issue, if that’s a problem for you keep driving. It is better to arrive during daylight as the camping area is not marked well. We saw several rv’s parked out with the trucks when all the campsites were open.

As we came off I-10 westbound we stopped here because after going East last year we stopped at the eastbound rear area across the road and loved it. When arriving we took the picnic table areas to the right and drove back to the furthest picnic turnoff spot around the circle loop. It might be next to the train tracks but if you aren’t a light sleeper or have a set of ear plugs this is a great place to get some shut eye for the night. We also felt very safe here and it wasn’t busy at all.

This was a sweet spot to spend the night while traveling. We were right next to the trains so if you’re a light sleeper this could be an issue. We’re used to trains so they didn’t bother us at all. We were far enough away from the trucks coming in and out that they weren’t an issue

Great little picnic areas away from trucks. I had a good night’s sleep (trains only woke me up once). But my husband is a light sleeper and he thought the trains were coming right through the RV all night long. He didn’t sleep much at all.

Excellent place for overnight. Away from the big rigs and other campers, but oh yes the trains. Lovely rumbling as they go by. Good news is there are no nearby crossings so there ain’t no horn!

This is my favorite one nighter so far. Loved that we could drive away from all the big rigs and get a quieter spot. Sure the trains are noisy (my kids loved it) but I didn’t hear them at night at all. The site wasn’t super level, but we managed. Easy to maneuver around.

This site has wonderful little picnic areas. The view of sunset and sunrise is extraordinary. You better bring earplugs. Between the highway noise and the frequent trains going by, it’s noisy!

“Closed”

Even though digital signage 9 miles before rest area indicated 10 spaces available, the rest area was blocked off with sign indicating “temporarily closed”. There was no indication of any work being done. Seems like the sign indicating number of spaces available could be updated to indicate it is closed!
