Spaces were VERY tight. Our friends’ sewer hookup was right outside their neighbor’s camper door. WiFi can be found around the front office and sometimes poor cell service there too. With all the natural beauty in this area, combined with cell service improving when moving just around the corner on the main road, we’ll stay elsewhere next time we’re in the area. Conveniences of on-site restaurant, tubing, and kids’ activities do not outweighs the extreme overcrowding. I could not step out of our trailer without making eye contact with the neighbors, or comfortably undress to shower without feeling like I was putting on a show (behind frosted bathroom door glass) for the neighbors whose campfire was 10’ away. Also note that parents let their kids OF ALL AGES run free here without supervision. We were in the minority going around the campground to supervise our child. No sites are paved. Summer afternoon rains cause major water flows across sites and lots of mud. Bright spot: the staff was very friendly.

This is no camp ground but a RV resort. They pack you in like sardines but everyone is very friendly and helpful. All the sites have full hook ups and there are stone fire rings made from river rock. They charge for activities around the park but there are also some free events and activities that they put on. There are some reservoirs and hiking trails within 15 minute drive from this location but there are also a lot of activities to do around the park. Bring walkie-talkies and bikes for the kids so they run around and enjoy the activities and reasonably priced snack shop. Also expect to spend some extra money while you’re there. There is a restaurant, gift shop, gas station, grocery store, and place to buy firewood. The rio grand river flows through the site and you can fish, tub and play in it. There are sites right next to the highway which are noisy and sites towards the east that seem more in the woods and less traffic noise

We stayed here last June in one of their cabins along the river. We rented 2 cabins for our family of 6 and that worked out fine. The upstairs/loft area of them is only fit for small children as the ceilings It was only about 40% full which was so nice as I can imagine in the high season that it is pretty packed. Great family fun for all ages-fishing, tubing, paddle boating, biking, relaxing. The area is stunningly beautiful. Many of the RV sites looked pretty close together. Lots of long-term people staying. Good mix of older couples and families. Very little service at the campground---we have Verizon and it was only barely available at the check in building.
Tarrah would stay here again
