Verizon speeds of 10 Mbps download load and 8 upload with a roof mounted Pepwave antenna. No obstructions at most sites to impede Starlink or solar.
The site we ended up in was very difficult to get into due to a large sand hill in the way of our truck swing. Most sites wouldn't have the same issue. The site was levelable with standard methods. Note that only 1 of 2 of the sites in the campground have direct views of the ocean (P63 on a hill). Beach access is close by. You can hear the ocean from the site we were in.
No issues with hanging branches or tight turns. As another reviewer noted, there are sandburs everywhere. It'll be an issue if you let pets wander around off pavement. Lots and lots of mosquitoes as well.
Groceries and gas are available at the CG entrance on the main road

Stayed November 2022 and there were a few people around. Nice clean quiet place but the second my small dog set foot on the grass, she cried in pain. She took 2 steps and couldn’t move, I had to carry her into the camper and pull about a dozen thorny burrs out of her feet. This was at the campsite, after we parked, not the wild areas or common grounds. Be warned if you have a dog, keep him/her on the pavement/ boardwalk areas, even the tight low benign looking grass is loaded with burrs. Even around well travelled areas like by the dumpster - tons of burrs. I think a lot of the OBX is like that because we encountered the same at Kitty Hawk, lots of grass, you can bring your dog but also TONS of burrs. I only stayed one night, my dog was not having the best time. The beach is awesome, a long walk to get there but worth it.

We have a 33ft. 5th Wheel and are limited to only a handful of site we are comfortable in. Too bad because there are so many cool sites for tents and small trailers. I am listing the sites we would reserve in the future based on levelness, room for opposing slides to open, space in the back to hang over and no big drop-offs either in the road turning in or stepping out of the camper. Loop P has the best sites for a 5th Wheel with; P4, P5, P11, P12, P18, P21, P46, P50. The OK sites that we would use in a pinch are A3, A8, A10, E3, P1, P19, P20, P61. None of the sites are awfully long. We had to keep the bed of the truck open and squeeze under the nose of the RV to stay on the pavement otherwise you will be parking your tow vehicle in one of the many overflow lots. We love this campground and will definitely return. Stickers/pickers/goatheads can be a problem for your pets. Had to use our weboost to draw in a weak signal.

Spent 5 days here. Family had a spot close by. Very wooded. Provides protection from the wind. Spot was absolutely level. Pulled in. When we checked side-by-side, it was absolutely spot on. Watch out for burrs. Most are in tall grass. Planning to return in winter. The $14 rate is with Access Pass

My only criticism is that the site we were in wasn't very level (hence 4 stars on Quality), about 5" off in one corner of our 144' wheel base van. But if you can level things up, you should be OK.
Note that the sites farthest away from the beach are higher in elevation and sometimes have a real nice view towards the ocean.

April is a great time to camp. There are few bugs. Campground is not full. A quiet and peaceful place. A plus is the whippoorwill roosting in the live oaks with their nightly serenade. Yes it is a long drive to get there, but that is the OBX.

The showers are cold and not fully enclosed. There is a 1/3 mile long boardwalk and sandy path to the beach, which is beautiful. Only complaint were the sand spurs that stuck to our shoes, clothes, bike tires, etc. and were painful to remove.
We took our trailer on the free ferry from Hatteras to Ocracoke Island for our next stop. Be sure to monitor weather forecasts before and during your stay here, as Atlantic storms can be serious.

Our site 61 was great. The seating was next to the RV instead of behind it. Also, we were high enough up we could see the water and hear it at night.
Beach access is just a short drive away.
Good food at the tavern on 12 near by.
15 mins to Cape Hatteras.
Showers are only cold! Plan on just using them to rinse off sand.
If planning on driving out on the beach, be sure to check permit requirements for when you will be there.

There are many very private sites, with shade and most seem to have easy trails to the bathrooms / shower house. The bathrooms & showers were clean.
Two well maintained boardwalks from the campground lead right to the beach. The beach was pristine! It was the nicest “wild” beach I’ve gone to.
Everything about this place was good, even the park ranger was really helpful and friendly.
Be warned though … none of the sites have electricity or water. There is water at the bath house, if you don’t bring your own. The showers are cold water … which to me felt great after a sandy, humid, 85 degree day. Many of the sites have small “driveways” so if you aren’t tent camping check the dimensions of the driveway. I also noticed that the “tent” areas at sites really vary in size so if you have a larger tent check the size of the “tent pad.”
