“Beautiful, shady sites”

The road into the campground is a wee bit narrow, so I wouldn't recommend trailer/RVs longer than 30ft. The pads are all paved, the sites are shaded. The campground has both flush and vault toilets - when we camped in June 2020 there was no running water. Our site allowed us beautiful lake views, with a short scramble down a slope to the lake. During the day, the lake became very windy, so it was uncomfortable to sit on the shore, we retreated back to our site. We did discover that if you leave the campground, turn left, and drive a couple of miles you cross a creek (Middle Fork of the American River), park your vehicle on the side of the road and you will find a beautiful, sheltered beach area on the creek where we ended up spending an entire day swimming.

“Beautiful and secluded”

Beautiful and quiet campground! Nestled in Tahoe National Forest, I’ve never seen more than half the campsites used at once. Most of the campsites are really shaded and large, several restrooms available, and the reservoir is right there for swimming and fishing (though we’ve been 3+ times and never caught a fish here). Only thing to be aware of is there is no cell service and you are in active bear territory so you need to make sure you lock up your food/personal items in the provided bear boxes.
