This is our very first post on our first time out. We arrived a bit later than we wanted but the check-in process was great. The attendant (Susie, I believe was her name) was very friendly. The combined check-in counter/store was comfortable and inviting. The ease of finding our site was excellent (we were escorted by a very friendly employee in a golf cart). He mentioned he was happy to deliver campfire wood and/or ice to us (it was a windy weekend so we avoided the campfire but accepted the ice). Site 100 was exactly how it was described by another member here on Campendium. It was a large pull-through, easily accessible with FHU right on their pond. Even though we were almost on top of our neighbor on the other side, we had a great view of the water.
I walked our dogs every morning and covered the entire campground. Looks like some long-term peeps were there but very friendly and festive. The dog park was very clean and open enough for our two pups to explore. Every employee we interacted with was super friendly and understanding of our "newbie" status. Some offered suggestions and advice which we very much appreciated.
The WiFi was excellent (as Susie, the check-in attendant promised). We had no issues streaming, even from inside our camper. We also filled up our propane tanks on the way out (depleting most of them since we had chosen a very cold time to stay).
All in all, we'd enjoy staying here again.
Breaking down our stars:
Access: watch out for the entrance to the left at the bottom of a very steep hill. It comes up very fast. Fortunately, the campground is very nicely marked on both the back road to it as well as the main road.
Location: similar to "access" the location can be a bit hairy with all the turns and twists on a very tight back road, however, we never heard any road noise and loved that it was set way back from any major roads.
Cleanliness: The restrooms and showers were exceptionally clean. It's obvious the owners and employees take great pride in their campground and it shows.
Site Quality: everything was right there and the pedestal even had a little night light for better visibility. Exceptionally clean 50amp power as well. Water bib was already wrapped for cold weather. Sewage cover came off easily and was overall very clean. There was a bit of flooding near our truck that we had to watch out for when getting out, along with some flooding in the grassy areas around the pond.
Noise: We didn't hear much at all as other campers respected quiet hours. Generally very quiet.

The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is due to the sites being so close together.

We got local TV channels under 10. Friendly staff and a good camp store. We would stay here again. Easy access to groceries and pharmacy on the way in. Very quiet setting that is close to Fredericksburg.

Later had an issue with my propane tank right before the office closed for the night, but they came right out and took a look at our RV and recommended a local mobile RV tech when he wasn't 100% sure what the issue was.
Campground was very quiet.
My only complaint, and not really on KOA, but the roads coming and going from the campground is not exactly RV friendly. Very narrow, windy and in definite need of some TLC.
Will likely stay here again to continue getting experience with our RV!

We were at site 100 with the best view of the lake and a great stone patio with beautiful furniture and a stone fire pit. The WiFi was great for working remotely and watching Netflix at night. Overall I really enjoyed this KOA. We did not use the pool or other amenities but I checked out the laundry facilities and they looked nice. Other sites didn’t offer too much privacy but ours was apart from the rows and felt much quieter. Would recommend!

We all want to know how close the sites are together. Pretty darn close, at least where we were in site 44. That said, it was such a nice place that we didn’t mind foregoing a campfire. (Smoke would have filled our neighbors’ RVs.)

Relatively level granite chips for our site. Sewer located downward from site, so easy offload. Good electric and cable connections.
Sketchy cellular service; for once, AT&T seemed to have advantage. Verizon weak. TMobile/Sprint weak.
