Very large gravel sites with beautiful trees around. Quiet and peaceful. Easy to find the park and camp site. Electric and water hookups. picnic table at each site. No WiFi. T-Mobile two bars signal. Nice park for dogs. Dogs allowed on trails.

Park is really well-maintained. Clean campsites and public areas. Public areas are right on the water. Some of the campsites have water views. Other campsites I have a wooded view.
I arrived early and not only did staff wave a day use fee but they also found me a better campsite. Note: I use a wheelchair.
Highly recommend the state park. Individual sites are wide with picnic tables and fire wings. Distance between campsites is about 50 feet.
I made my reservation online. I did not realize that the online reservations do not allow for same-day reservations. If you’re traveling and need a same-day reservation, call the state park directly.
There’s a small store with ice at the Ranger a check in the area.

Our dog liked walking the trails and would get excited to go for a walk down the trails. Staff was very friendly and eager to share their knowledge. Site 28 has a nice view of the Bayou. When campers checked out, the staff would clean the campsite of leaves and rake the gravel back level. I have already looked at the reservation website to make another reservation and found that this park is booked full for close to a year.

Our site has a tree almost in the middle of the entrance. Got our 36’3” class A parked in one try with radios and a spotter. Glad we weren’t longer and would not try it by myself. Wishing we had more time in this beautiful park.

The sites are spacious and not too close together. I would have given this park 5 stars but as a reviewer stated some of the sites are positioned at an angle from the roadway making a little changeling to back in a longer TT or 5th wheel. OTA TV and cell coverage were very good. We would defiantly stay again.

The sites are spacious and shaded, the waterfront has a narrow but usable beach, you can park your jetski/boat there overnight, the trails are lovely, the park folks are very friendly, the price is amazing for somewhere so close to the Gulf beaches (10 miles and a $4 toll - $3 if you have the SunPass). The T-Mobile coverage has improved a lot since we first went in mid-2020, and we were able to watch streaming TV/video with only occasional loss of sharp picture (but still watchable).

Nor was leveling, even though the sites I occupied were very level. Site 19 required no leveling at all. Enjoyed the trails and water views. No dolphins, but I like to sleep in so that’s probably why. Quiet park. Never used the Henderson Beach option. But Niceville and Freeport are easy access towns. Very nice. Kayaks, canoes, sups and bikes all available to rent. Overall a very good experience. Will be back. Good location to stay while visiting family.

Nice walking trails, and we saw dolphins here! Free entry into Henderson Beach State Park was an added bonus.

Most were perpendicular to the road, but some even angled the wrong way, making them extra challenging to back into. Site 37 was one of them. Some of the sites are also deceptively unlevel, which given the depth of the sites, it is a little surprising they couldn’t be made more level. Our front wheels were several inches off of the ground. The campground was largely full while we were there. AT&T coverage was “fair”, generally with 2 Bars and up to ~4 MB/s. There is no WiFi, no cable and probably no satellite coverage at any site with a roof mounted dish due to the heavily tree cover. We were able to get 4 strong OTA DTV channels with our omni antenna however.
