Franklin County Park Campground

Franklin county park campground is adjacent to the county fairgrounds. It is a large campground with 141 sites. There is dry camping for $15 a night there is electric only for $20 a night and electric and water for $25 a night this is a very clean and well-maintained campground very underused. Even during fair events the manager said that they’re never full . If you’re in this area make it a stop, overnight or longer. Nice town to walk through lots of history and yes a great pizza place!!!!!

This is large county park, tucked up in the hills just south of town. The sites with water and electric were in a more open area, while electric only sites were under large black walnut trees. There is also a dump station, but it is locked, so you must ask the camp host for assistance.

We had the place to ourselves on a Thursday in mid-September except for one tent camper. The host was very friendly and said they often full the park when having events like a fair or antique show.

We had quite a few electrical issues with this place. Our EMS said "Open Ground" on two pedestals we tried. We found one without issues, only to have it die in the middle of the night (we were able to get power on different outlet of same pedestal for rest of night).

Also lots of local kids visit this park. There were some teenagers having an argument as well as a large group of teenage girls yelling at squealing as they played on the playground equipment next to our site at 10 pm (??). Thankfully they left us alone and were gone by 10:30, after which the park was very quiet.
