It is a tad loud but if you can sleep through it then it’s a perfect stop. Very scenic, drive carefully though. People that live nearby have dogs that chase cars

Once you enter there is a sign with a fork in the road, if you go right you get a site with fire rings and a pit vault and to the left is just a small turn about at the end of a gravel road. I stayed to the left but bigger vans and rvs may need to go to the right. You can stay here for up to 10 days, only thing is there is a train that runs by every now and then and some traffic from the road you drive down from. Views are great as well.

First, if you are hauling a trailer, don't turn left after you turn into this area. We checked out the area to the right and upon seeing that there might not be a good spot, we went back and turned the other way. It's a narrow dirt road leading to a small turn around that could be used be a car or van. We had to back our trailer out. Then we negotiated into a lovely shaded but not very level spot right by the boat ramp hoping the fishermen wouldn't be staying the night. Not half an hour later, some guys came to pull their boats out (free entertainment) but then went to their "camp" right next to us and immediately fired up their generator... At 6 pm in broad daylight for no reason we could see. They didn't have a camper... Just a truck. So we left.

Stopped here one Friday night to sleep on a long road trip to Washington. Turns out it was a poor choice for sleep: across the river are train tracks which serve a very active rail line. At all hours of the night, trains came through, horns blasting and all. It was extremely loud and woke me up probably 10 times throughout the night even with earplugs in. There are only 3 spots and none are flat. There was a gate which may have led to more spots, but the gate was closed. In the morning, after hardly sleeping, I was woken up by lots of trucks with boats coming to put into the river. The river was pretty, it felt safe, and it was free, but I definitely wouldn’t stay here again due to the trains.

WARNING: Directly across the river, there is an active rail line that had train traffic (while I was there) approximately every 1.5 to 2 hours. It wasn't too terrible but do be warned. Still had a good night sleep.

This place was a great stop over for a night. There is a pit toilet and two campfire rings. There’s a great view of the snake river and awesome sunset. Indeed the train goes by several times and is loud so just be prepared and manage your expectations. It’s free! What more do you want?

The main camp spots were taken so I parked at the far edge of the parking lot near a fire ring and set up camp there. A few other cars came late at night but were quiet. Just be sure to try and leave early-ish so you don’t block any boating trucks or get trapped by trucks that are gone boating for the day.
As others stated, it’s very close to the train which can be loud at times but not frequent enough to keep you up at night. It can be deafening when it goes by though.
Overall a nice quick stopover, easy access and nice flat parking lot, would stay again if I needed to find a safe place

My fiance and I camped here in our camper van, just one night because we had plans booked down the road in Twin Falls. When reading the previous reviews here I was a little bit worried about the sound of the trains keeping us up all night, but it turned out that all of the trains that passed were very short and they were quite infrequent. We are also getting to realize that we like the sound of trains! Aside from that, It's very accessible from I-84 - just a short jaunt away, easy to get into as well even without four-wheel drive, etc. there were no mosquitoes, but there were quite a few flies. The river was chilly and clear and wonderful to do a cold plunge! Since we were occupying one of the two sites and had the entire area to ourselves, I loved being able to go skinny dipping in the Snake river!
Both campsites have excellent tree cover for shade. There is a pit toilet and it was smelly in there, but not too gross. The sunset on the river was absolutely gorgeous and the sound of coyotes singing always makes me feel like I'm right at home. I would camp here again if traveling this way!

We liked this spot. Epic river front and no one there except a few boats entering the river. It was remote and quiet enough that we had sex in broad daylight on the tail gate of our truck.
