We decided to camp here last minute so we were able to book same day reservation online. The road coming in is very narrow and windy and felt like each lane was 7ft wide with no shoulder. Only one switch back could be an issue so take the turn wide and look for cars coming the other direction. We came here in the dark, so that was an experience!!! There were many big rigs in the Old Orchard CG so the roads can’t be that bad.
Our side was paved and level right on the water with no issues getting our 28’ TT in. There were a handful of sites I considered too short for us (the shorter side of the buddy sites). I believe this CG section is all 20/30 amp electric only, however there are water fountains/spigots at the center of some loops so be sure to fill with water before hand.
There is a mountain bike trailhead right in the park, so you can bike to it, this is a plus! There also a pool during the warm months…only drawback is the swimming beach is 40min drive away.
AT&T had 2-3 bars 5G service without the weeboost and were able to work and stream Amazon prime. We will come back again….almost heaven, West Virginia.
5turkeys would stay here again

“Very Busy State Park! ”

We have mixed emotions about this review. First, the good - Our site was level and right on the lake.
The disc golf course was mowed and a fun, short course that we enjoyed!
This concludes the good portion of the review...
The bad- Site 185 is electric only, which is no big deal, we have had many sites like this in the past. However, the water source in this loop is made to fill a small bucket and is very close to the ground meaning you cannot fill a 6 gallon jug. You will have to drive up to the dump station area to fill jugs at the potable water hydrant.
Verizon cell service is nearly non existent in this section of the park. We could get occasional signal using our mimo antenna but just enough to occasionally send a text message. We could drive to the boat ramp and get slightly better signal
The road leading in to Beech Fork is extremely narrow! Can get even tighter with oncoming traffic. Not a fun drive.
The park was extremely busy and seemed pretty popular with the locals. Not a terrible park, just not a good fit for us.
