We booked 5 days here because the reviews said there was signal. There was no signal unless we plugged in our booster with directional antenna. Then we only had voice/text and unusable data on Verizon. With booster voice/text only ATT. None on T-Mobile. If you are working on the road this isn’t a good place. It is a huge park so it could be other parts have more signal, but everything was reserve only and booked so we got to choose from only 5 available sites out of over 400 when we booked.
As far as the park, it was our least favorite of all the Oregon State Parks we stayed in. It’s over crowded and basically looks like a parking lot. You hear all your neighbors and there is no wind so the campfire smell is everywhere. The guy across from us basically parked in the road making it impossible to get into our site until we asked him to move.
The weather in this particular area isn’t very favorable even when it’s nice at other places. There’s a few tourist spots to see but they are poorly maintained and lacked any sort of information for context. I wouldn’t recommend. There’s many more fantastic places in the state.

History
This was once the primary military defense installation in the Harbor Defense System. This installation included Forts Canby and Columbia in Washington. Fort Stevens was active from the Civil War to World War II.
Today it is a 4,300-acre park offering an exploration of history and many recreational opportunities.FeesPay $5 at the gate and the first group of buildings you see house several exhibits featuring memorabilia from the Civil War to World War II. Probably the best part of Fort Stevens is the many turn-of-the-century, concrete artillery batteries.
Tours
You can take a tour underground through a rare gun battery that also served as a World War II command center. This tour is open certain times of the year due to weather.
They also have a fun tour in the back of a military transport truck! This gives you the opportunity to see the fortifications from a whole new perspective. It's a bumpy ride and the truck is noisy but it's a unique experience so go for it!
CampsitesThis is a massive park with 174 sites with full hookups. 36 sites are pull-through with 30 and 50 amp electrical connections. They have 302 sites with electric and water, 11 of those are pull-through.

This very large state campground seemed roomy during the week when we visited in the off-season (October) but even on off-season weekends it was surprisingly crowded. We reserved sites in the O loop because we wanted more open sky and fewer trees to get a little more sun, but the O loop is still pretty forested. Sites O-10 through 12 might be the most open, but throughout the loop the sites have tall trees but surprisingly little privacy between the sites. We also found that the bathrooms were not as clean as we would like -- the local black beach sand tends to get everywhere and it was an issue in the bathrooms even when the campground was mostly empty. The women's showers in the O loop also had 2 out of 4 showers out of order, and only 1 offered adequately hot water. Data service was frustrating, because at times we had 2 bars of solid service on AT&T with our MyFi (no service on phones at all) but at other times was had a sketchy and mostly unusable 1 bar.
Despite these issues, we liked the location of the campground near Astoria, Cape Disappointment, and Seaside. There are plenty of services (Costco, Fred Meyer, Home Depot, etc.) just outside the campground in Warrenton. The state park is huge, with multiple beach access points that helped visitors spread out and get their fill of wide open and deserted beach. There are several hiking trails within the park, as well as historic military structures. The nearby Lewis & Clark National Historic Park was an interesting capstone to several months spent on the Lewis & Clark Trail. We enjoyed our stay, but probably wouldn't attempt a return visit during the busy summer months.

But the sites leave a little to be desired. They are pretty, shady and spaced out fairly well but they aren't level and only about a third have sewer, which doesn't cost extra. There is 50 amp power and water at all the sites. Some of the sites are short leaving vehicles and even parts of RV's encroaching on the roads at times, In some cases, gray water dumps and power pedestals make parking tough, especially for longer rigs. Lastly, there's really no data coverage, at least in the C loop. We've got usable but very slow AT&T data with a booster but didn't help Verizon.
But overall, it's a great park with plenty to do and see.

The park is awesome with beaches, river views, historic sites, shipwrecks, biking and hiking trails- everything you could possibly want. And staying in the campground makes it easy to explore all the park has to offer plus you are close to Astoria and Seaside for checking out those towns.
The downside is this is a very busy park with hundreds of campsites. Theres a decent amount of trees and bushes so you arent staring right into your neighbors windows- but they are still right there, and if you're lucky like us you will have kids constantly biking through the middle of your site.
Cell service is really spotty throughout the park, we were able to pull in 1-2 bars of LTE through our antenna and hotspot but our phones couldn't even pick up a signal to make a call or send a text. It was then that we decided to finally give in and order a booster as we've been in the situation far too many times.
Showers are in individual rooms which is nice but werent super clean. Also you have no control of the water temperature and you have to push the button every 2 minutes to keep the water going

What a lovely state park. It is huge, and has so much to offer, from the fort itself to the Peter Irelade wreck on the beach. Oh, and you can drive on the beach.
Everything was great.
The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star, is because that is reserved for campgrounds that has complete privacy at the site. This one, while there is space and a few bushes, you can still see your neighbor. Or course, when the leaves are out, it will be more secluded.
Coverage: I performed speed test on MIFI Verizon Hotspot with MIMO Netgear antenea, and got .5 mpbs down, and .06 mpbs up. Not good.
For sprint I used my Galaxy s8+ to create a hotspot, and got 4.98 down, and .41 up.
Guess Sprint was the winner this time!

We arrived in Fort Steven’s late in the day Christmas evening. We were surprised to see the information booth was staffed on Christmas. This was appreciated since they were very helpful in getting us settling on a campsite in this large park.
This park charges a different fee for tent camping versus hook ups. The tent sites on K loop were relatively private and had paved parking that took you into the site so it was perfect with the van. We were able to park so our slider opened toward the picnic table. The sites were relatively flat with a mild slope. If we had our leveling blocks it would have been easy to flatten the van.
Because the campground is in a valley the cell service was poor in K loop. As others have said, this is a large park, so if service is important to you, note that before picking which loop to stay in. In the K loop we only received Verizon 1X service with one bar.
K loop is a mix of tents and cabins. The only negative we found with this loop was it does not have a bathroom as other loops do, so it was a longer walk to the bathrooms.

We visited the fort/historical area and the ship wreck on the beach. There is a lake where you can fish. The northern tip of the park is beautiful where you can see the ocean on one side and the mouth of the Columbia river on the other side. On a clear day you can see Astoria across the river as well as the state of Washington. We only stayed 4 days and really could have spent more time. Next time we are in Oregon we will definitely come back. Verizon was pretty weak, but worked okay with a booster, AT&T worked better.

I struggle to find any faults but I will say that you may not get cell service if you don't have a booster. With a booster I was able to pull in solid Verizon, Att and t mobile but without one, not so much. Even with a booster, Verizon was slow (2mbps). T mobile and ATT were better (3-5mbps). Lots of OTA channels.
All together this is one of my favorite state parks ever. The surroundings are so gorgeous and the beaches (while too cold to swim) are tranquil. Everywhere is dog friendly including the beaches.
Fun area to explore. Check out Seaside for a cute town to shop in.
