We arrived in the evening and the pull thru site more than accommodated both our 19’ trailer and SUV. All the hook ups worked perfectly and the facilities were clean.

The state park (SP) was fairly easy to find as there are SP signs well before the park, and all the way to the park regardless of which direction you are coming in from. WAZE and our RV GPS wanted to take us down other streets, but we held the course following the signs. There are multiple ways to get to the park, but the signs lead you to the most RV friendly roads. We turned into the park entrance, where there was a huge parking lot and a sign to register. Check-in was quick and easy. Our cost was an $8 online booking fee, with both of us having the Oregon State Park Disabled Veteran Pass. This pass provides 10 days of free camping per month to disabled veterans, resident or non-resident. We proceeded right out of the parking lot and to the H loop, where we drove to site H10 with FHUs. This is an old loop with lots of trees, but the road was passable with our 40’ fifth wheel. However, site H10 has a brush on the driver’s side and low-hanging trees on the passenger side. It’s a tight back-in, and you have to hit the pad exactly to keep from scraping the driver’s side, and we brushed branches on our 13.5’ roof. After several tries and some minor scraping, we got into the site. We asked a park ranger if we could trim the branches so they wouldn’t scrape the roof, especially in the wind. The ranger gave us permission to hand trim. On select loops (there’s a sign as you exit the registration parking lot on where) they sell firewood by the camp host areas for $7 a bundle. They also sell kindling for $4 a bundle. The water pressure was okay, and we had no issues with the sewer or electric. As we were here for two weeks and football junkies, we tried to get Starlink to connect with no luck as there were too many trees. We had 2 bars on Verizon, so we were able to get some internet with our MiFi. Fort Stevens is a huge campground with a variety of site sizes and utility options. The best loop for big rigs, in our opinion, is the newer O loop (water and electric 50/30/20 AMP only) that doesn’t have as many trees or shrubs between sites. The O loop’s even-numbered sites 2-26 are big-rig friendly and open enough to provide satellite shots, especially for Starlink. In general, just our opinion, loops B, C, D, E, F, G & M, are better suited for tents and/or shorter rigs (up to 35’). Class A's and 5th wheels may have trouble with overhead branches. Loops I, J, and N have plenty of sites that will fit big rigs, but read reviews as loops I and J are heavily wooded with overhead branches and brush/shrubs separating sites like in the H loop. There are a ton of trails to walk or bike. We really enjoyed all that Fort Stevens State Park has to offer, with a side benefit being all the elk roaming around the campground and deer hanging out at our campsite.

This is one of the best parks we’ve encountered in 5 years of full-timing. We stayed for 7 nights. Checkin was quick and there is plenty of room to park and unhook your towed vehicle at the checkin area. Paved interior roads throughout. The road in our loop was tight in places, especially with vehicles parked on the edge of the road, but we made it in our 40 foot coach without issue. We were in site H3, a back in with full hookups. The site was large and wooded with a gravel parking area, fire pit, and picnic table. We had plenty of room for our coach and toad, and no problems getting level. There was no road noise. The park is very well maintained. Utilities worked as expected. There is no park WiFi, our Starlink connection worked with some interruptions. T-mobile signal was weak. The park has miles of paved bike/walking trails and miles of beach easily accessed from several points, as well as historic sites of interest. We hated to leave, and plan to return for another visit in the future.

We have camped here several times. It never disappoints us. The staff and volunteers are very helpful. Being from Washington state, we don’t like paying the 25% out of state fee and the $8.00 booking fee but it’s worth it. Every camping spot has water and electricity, except bikers and hikers area. The restrooms and showers are clean and maintained several times a day. Our only problem is getting more than 1 day reservation during the summer. During the summer, don’t think you can just show up and get a spot. Book it online. They have the best reservation online service which makes it easy. They have paved biking and hiking trails all over the park and to the Pacific Ocean. We like to drive up to the Peter Iredale wreck and have our breakfast. Later we’ll drive to Fort Clatsop National Park for a great hike. Shopping and restaurants are close by too. It’s the perfect place to camp regardless of the out of state fee. Cell service is barely there. We usually have to drive to Costco in warrenton to get food cell service. There is no Wi-Fi at fort stevens. We like to go to Fred Meyers for free Wi-Fi before we shop there.

We stayed for a week at site M23. We have stayed at Fort Stevens several times, but were disappointed this time. We love the bike paths and the museum and tour are worth it. Our site was a disappointment. It was right next door to the wood shed. People were constantly stopping to buy wood. I knew this before we made a reservation, but it was the longest site I could reserve at the time. When I hooked up the sewer, it overflowed. A ranger came and used a pressure washer to clean it out. He showed up as soon as the host notified him. When he finished, I tried to dump grey water and it backed up, too. He came back with the same machine, but a different tool and pulled out something that looked like a butt wipe. After that, I was able to drain grey water slowly. (Left the valves open while we stayed.). We had to stop at the dump station to get rid of the black water. If we ever visit, again, I’ll try to make reservations for the off season. There were lots of people and children on bicycles who were always in the road.

Washrooms clean. Lots of hot water. No pay at showers.

A couple things to note, it is completely wooded so Starlink was a bit of an issue. I drove to the beach and worked from there most days. Additionally, cell phone service is basically non-existent. So definitely be aware of that if you need to be connected, otherwise it's a beautiful area.

Decided to stay an extra day, but had to move to a new site b/c mine was already reserved by someone else. Moved to N26. Back in and electric + water (no sewer) for $35/nite. On a rounded corner and more space. But, only one bar. Able to make calls, but not able to access internet. This loop has a trail to a lake. Seems to attract a younger & louder crowd than Loop L.
Rangers patrol frequently. Nice staff. Not intrusive, just helpful. Will stay again. Next time, will bring mosquito repellent incense…
