“Great Beaches and hiking”

Reviewed Aug 15, 2019

Overall Rating

This time of the year (mid August) the temps are mid 80's to upper 90's. The area has daily sea breezes that make the temps comfortable. The campground has both electric/water and dry sites. The the bathroom/shower facilities are clean and there is also a dish/pot cleaning station. The campground has 137 electric/water sites and 41... more

“Great beach walking, ok camping, ok facilities”

Reviewed Mar 30, 2019

Overall Rating

Have stayed here twice in last several years. The campground is a typical NPS campground, underfunded, barely kept up, well used, but decent overall. With a Annual pass its a good value. The best feature are the beaches, both the Gulf and bay side offer miles of clean beaches, with several areas for parking and toilets.

“Great beach access and fort. So, so campground.”

Reviewed Mar 23, 2019

Overall Rating

This is a hard campground to rate, especially since we paid only $20/night with our national parks pass. First, the plusses: the campsites are walking/bike riding distance to the beach with its white sand and clear water. On the other side of the campground is Pensacola Bay where you can see the Naval Air Station and Fort Barrancas.... more

I have a few things to add to all the previous reviews and that is if you go into Pensacola to visit the National Naval Aviation Museum be prepared to pass through a full military checkpoint. You'll have to produce a state issued identification (i.e. drivers license) and they do scan it to see if your have any felony arrests or outstan... more

This is our 2nd stay in as many years and I have to say some aspects are 1-Star and other aspects are 5-Stars. Upon arrival for our 10 day stay we were informed that our site was floode (they had had a lot of rain the previous weeks), but there were others available to choose from. I asked for a list so we could pick out a site and he ... more

The rate I posted is the senior lifetime pass holder date. The regular rate is doulble that. The site had 50amp hookup and water. There is also an on-site dump station station in the campground for confidence. The bathrooms were clean. There are also a series of private showers which were relatively clean. The walls were stained from t... more

Loved this campground. Our site was on Loop C. Not too much privacy on the sites but you should be at the beach anyway. Beautiful soft white sand! We had the beach to ourselves in November. You might want to ask about which sites flood with heavy rain. We had 24hrs of rain and there were some sites that looked like people had to move... more

We (my wife and I) had an awesome time at Fort Pickens Campground. Our site had no shade; however, it was perfect for the low 70’s and windy weather. Would definitely prefer a shadier site if in the mid 80’s and up. Short drive to Langdon Beach which is on park property. Pavilion with plenty of tables and bathrooms. Unfortunately, ... more
