“Great find, secluded, but within 1 mile of Fort.”

($24 USD)This unique spot is located on the river between Daisy Mae CG and Rivers Edge CG. It would be best to call 403.715.2461 ahead of time. It is behind a "locked" gate, that is probably not locked if you look at it. We were helped by Trent, who lives nearby and runs this non profit. They have a lot of boondock sites on two different levels, mesa and river levels. Firepits, picnic tables, swings. They have several electric only spots also available, which were $5 extra, mine had multiple 15 amps available.. Fairly primitive area. Very quiet. Lots of wildlife. 1/2mile wash board if approached from east. Paved if approaching from from west side. In mid week in mid May of 2022 we were the only RV occupied there.

“Community campground, campsites not defined, field and forest options”

This campground is gated but not locked with a sign that says Everyone Welcome but call to register. I arrived in late October, called and and left a message, then went in and picked a spot to set up. Some friendly people came by to register me and collect $20 within an hour or so.

Campsites are not clearly defined - there is an open area where you can camp on the grass in the sunshine or if you prefer, there is a wooded area closer to the river where you can set up. I believe there are some full hookup sites for an additional fee.

Garbage receptacles throughout the camp plus some playground equipment. Baseball fields nearby. There is a friendly man who lives on site and is currently working on improvements to the main building.

In summer, they host a big event here during which the campground is filled to capacity. It appears this property belongs to a community organization that is focused on recreation and conservation and they are doing a good job taking care of the land and ensuring it is available for the community to enjoy.
