Fort Craig Rest Area Northbound

I pulled in around sunset and parked in the semi area. Then I checked out the rest rooms and picnic spots. Next I drove out of the truck area and down to the end of the car parking lot. No traffic was coming into the rest area so I was okay. My Jeep and 10 foot trailer fit perfectly in two normal parallel parking spots. I stored extra equipment under the trailer.
The picnic tables are concrete and nestled into really nice adobe style huts. A windbreak rises almost 5 feet and works well. A small alcove, just wide enough for a two burner propane stove is set into one end of the hut. I cooked a good dinner and ate at the picnic table. An outdoor spigot allowed me to wash out my pot and silverware.
The ADA restroom is lesser used and thus much cleaner than the regular restroom.
I slept in my trailer and barely heard the traffic noise. Traffic was light at this spot. Verizon coverage was 4 bars. I created a hot spot and used my laptop for web work.
When the sun rose I cooked a tasty breakfast, washed and shaved and them repacked the trailer. Everything was safe and secure. By 9 AM I was back on I-25.
I would stay here again. It is safe and convenient.
