“Great for overnight”
Reviewed Dec 05, 2018
This park is about ½ mile from I 81 in a country setting with grazing cows. The office is at the back of the park which is different. Just pass the RV sites and it will be straight ahead. Check-in was quick, easy and friendly. We circled around the bath house to get back to our site. The roads and sites are gravel. Most sites are pull ... more

“Adquate for an overnight”
Reviewed Nov 26, 2017
Stayed in the first week of October. The person at the check-in desk was rude, there was constant noise, and there were some rough-looking permanent trailers. I would not have stayed there more than one night.

“Great for an overnight stop, or maybe a little longer”
Reviewed Oct 31, 2017
Like many visitors, we just stayed overnight. Since it's a pretty big park and caters to overnight stops, and it was mid-October, we almost didn't make a reservation but it's a good thing we did! The park was full by early evening. The section of pull-throughs we were in had very tight sites, fine for overnight but not much more than t... more

“Very nice private campground with full hook-ups, mature trees, a small pond and clean, well-maintained amenities.”

We spent just one night at Fort Chiswell RV Park on our way from Shenandoah to the Great Smoky Mountains. This park has a lot going for it – clean, convenient, decent sites, and nice amenities. While some sites offer more shade than others, they are all adequately sized, level, with decent separation. Each site has a picnic table, full... more

“Comfort Zone”

We are still traveling North towards our September destination in Shenandoah National Park. We stopped here due to a cancellation at another park that was in a flood area, and heavy storms were forecasted. This place has a lot of traffic, many RVers come here, it's right off I-81, and close to stores and restaurants. We like that it ha... more

“Great stop over CG, right off I81! ”

Cleanest, nicest restrooms and showers (with A/C!) music and shiny floors! Pull through level gravel site with a tree and grass between each site giving partial shade. The pool is a welcome delight after a travel day and our Gaylord (a cocker) loved the property. Hundreds of goats came wondering over the hill in the early day light ... more

“A perfect overnight stop while traveling I-81!”
Reviewed Jul 09, 2015
We stayed here for just one night as we were traveling north. It was a quick and easy stop with the park about a mile from the highway without the noise. There was a Pilot truck stop just off the highway, as well. We were originally given one of very long gravel pull thru sites so we could leave the car attached but the site was in ... more

This very convenient campground is mostly pull-thru sites. The concrete ones had a level pad big enough for very large motor homes, but the tow behind vehicles were a little sloped off the back of the motor homes. The grassy pull-thrus were nicely level though just barely long enough for our 30ft trailer and crew cab truck. The edges ... more
