This forest service campground is maintained beautifully, the flush toilets are spotless and the hosts are delightful. Choose your site carefully, it can get crowded in the center. A lot of tent campers and small trailers, would not recommend bringing anything larger than a 19 ft trailer.

Lovely campground for smaller rigs; larger rigs might fit in the upper loop (site 24 is fantastic) but the interior roads are narrow and curvy and I watched as many larger trailers (over 25') hit rocks and/or trees as they tried to get around. Also beware the "pull through" spots are really just pull-over spots: A wide spot in the aforementioned narrow camp road. Parking there people will be passing within a foot or so of your rig (assuming you even fit--I would not park anything wider than my car in those.
The lower loop, when full, feels very claustrophobic but excellent access to swimming in the lake and hiking Goat Mountain Trail so you don't have to hang at home for long.
Flush toilets, clean bathrooms, friendly host, an occasional text via Verizon came in but not much else.

“Closed in the winter”
Reviewed 11/4/2019
Looks like a great spot but closes in the winter season. Only campground that is open in the area is Cedar Bluff.
