“Most beautiful campsite we've ever camped in!”
Reviewed Sep 26, 2018
The exact GPS coordinates of the campsite we stayed in are 47.065783, -121.616637 but there are at LEAST 10 campsites down below this mountain campsite before heading up. DO NOT DRIVE TO THIS CAMPSITE WITHOUT SCOUTING IT FIRST! The nearest campsite you can park in while scouting this campsite is 2.2 miles down the mountain, there were downed trees in the way, low hanging trees, and some slightly washed out areas on our way up but that's not why I say no rigs larger than 25' should attempt to camp up here. The campsite is narrow and long, so it is a large campsite, but there is no where to turn around. We had to unhook more than once just to get turned around (and we did scout this out before heading up here and knew we would have to do so).
Even though I say there are 2 bars of 4G LTE Verizon coverage, it varied between no signal at all and 2 bars. We didn't consistently have 2 bars of 4G so in order to work we drove into Enumclaw, WA. We got water and dumped at Fraternal Order of Eagles in Buckley, WA for $10 and shopped for groceries in Enumclaw.
This was an excellent base camp while exploring the Mt Rainier National Park and was by far our favorite campsite ever! The view up here is AMAZING! We shared it with family one weekend and there was plenty of room up here for them to camp too. Just remember to scout ahead. I've included a picture where I've marked all the other campsites down the mountain where you can park your rig before scouting ahead to this campsite.
