jack pine. Spaces available to settle down next to access road are abundant but it’s dry and dusty.
Strictly primitive camping , it’s boondocking.
No views in heavy timber. It’s a place to spend a night for free and move on. Rather unforgettable.

We turned off on to Forest Road 70 and drove in about 2 miles or more, need to go slow because of a little washboardy and fallen trees, other than that it was not bad at all. Our total length with truck and trailer is 55ft and we made it just fine. The trees are far enough apart to fit any size trailer.

Easy to find with the coordinates listed on Campendium. Access is easy also with our 37" Class A RV and the road is in goid gravel condition. There were plenty of room about 2 miles down the road and we were the only one. It was a quiet and nice clean place. T-Mobile service worked fine.

Wide open forest. We parked about 1-2 miles in. The road has been graded with those wavy ridges so we had to drive at walking speed in our RV but it was worth it. Big, open site with no one in eyesight or earshot.

“Beautiful Boondocking Site”

We’re about 2 miles in off the main road. Huge level site, fire ring, level, fantastic. Dead silent, no one else here except for chipmunks and some annoying cluster flies. Road is easy to navigate. 3 bars of TMobile and 1 bar of ATT. TMobile home 5G internet works fine to stream tv. This spot rules.

Well packed dirt road reads to many campsites. The sites we saw were all large and clean. Many options. We had slow internet but it did work. We did have good phone service.close to Crater lake.

Stayed July6-July15. We stayed the first night at the large area that has several sites and at crossroads of 2 other Service roads 1 mile in. We rode our bikes out to find a great site. We found it at Mile marker 12 on NF 70 west side of road. We saw 1 car a day. Extra quiet. Loved it!
Verizon was ok on cell. Internet a little slow

We are full-timers and have a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and had scouted the area before arriving with the RV. NF-70 is gravel and in pretty good shape, i.e., no potholes, but is heavily washboarded. This wasn’t an issue for the Cherokee, but with a stiffer suspension, I had to limit the RV speed to less than 7 mph to keep from shaking it apart. We found a nice large and level site (43.0722212, -121.9514206) just off of NF-70 a little further in than this location, about a mile from OR-138, and there were a few other dispersed sites near there as well. We stayed for 3 days in late September and had the place to ourselves. There was no one else with in miles of our spot and only saw 2 or 3 cars each day on NF-70. There were a few 9mm bullet casings on the ground, so locals probably use the spot to camp and target shoot. One of the tree stumps was riddled with bullet holes. AT&T service was fair with 1-2 bars of LTE and speeds up to about 7 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on one of the western satellites at our site through a gap in the trees. There were no OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

The road was in fine shape for our mini van, lots of little spots for privacy. We didn’t go too far away from the road, so could hear when vehicles passed, but it wasn’t too often.
