Ponderosa Pines in Kaibab National Forest.
Saw at least a dozen bigger rigs with better backing skills than us tucked away from the road.
Lovely to see trees after 2 months of desert. Had cows fairly close, deer in the distance. Lots of birds.
Verizon 1-2 bars, ATT showed 1 bar but was unusable. This was fairly close to the entrance with no booster.
Grounds reasonably clean, I've seen worse. 2 grocery bags over 14 days of broken glass, nails, plastic, used foil, beer caps, shell casings etc on my walks.
Several spots have nice firepits.
There is some road noise, but not bad.
Close to GCNP & free. If you have a pass, use the left lane for quicker entry.
Restaurants & groceries in the area are at tourist prices, bring what you need or be prepared for sticker shock.
Propane is available at the RV park just past the general store.
We refilled water jugs inside the park at their Spring Water stations each time we went. Laundry at Mather Campground.
Definitely do Desert View Drive while in the area. Gorgeous views & able to get away from the masses at Grand Canyon Village.
Would stay again if in the area.
If coming in late for longer than 1-2nts. Take the 1st spot you can fit into & scout out the next morning. Lots of car/van campers were just here for the night, and there are many easy spaces tucked back from the road that are hard to see from the road when towing. We parked just off the road near the entrance and grabbed a great spot 48hrs later when some neighbors left.

We did not. It was dry but I could see the ruts where people were here when wet.
We drove further back into the forest and the further back you go, the less people there are. Most people stay towards the entrance.
Pretty level spot, quiet and wildlife.

The best part is access to the Grand Canyon was only a few minutes away!

We spent 3 nights here and LOVED it! We parked at the first site to the right past the turnaround area. We have a 33 ft. travel trailer and there was plenty of room for us. There was another large spot to the left on entry as well (pull-through). This area is about 5 miles from the South Rim entrance to the Grand Canyon so it was perfect! The turn-in to the area is a bit rugged, so take it slowly but the dirt road itself is well maintained. There was only 1 other camper (a van) when we stayed so we could have our pick. We never go far into these types of areas because of the size of our rig, so not sure how many total spots and if the road gets rougher later. Had decent Verizon cell reception, beautiful star gazing, and quiet. There was a stone fire area that we used with ease as well. **Can dump and get potable water in GCNP with ease.

Good location that's convenient to the park. Highly recommend not staying when it's wet or snow covered. pros: lots of space & easy to not be near anyone else, wooded & private, good service, convenient access to grand canyon
cons: easy main gravel road but if you turn off onto side roads to find a spot they can get really rough

Some sites are more shaded than others. We stayed about a 1/2 mile in at one of the last big rig friendly sites, had plenty of sun for our solar. Cell coverage is sketchy at best as was our internet booster. 10 minutes-ish from South entrance of Grand Canyon. It was a perfect spot and no litter to be found. :)

The road was really smooth and easy to navigate. Would totally recommend! It was also very clean (picked up a few small misc. pieces of trash from previous campers but that was pretty much it). It's great if you want an early start to the Grand Canyon, as it's about 10 minutes from the entrance.
