Forest Road 6400

We traveled FS Road 6400 looking for dispersed camp sites. We found four sites after Grasshopper Meadows and before White River Falls campgrounds. They'll be on the west side as you're traveling north on the FS road. We arrived around 3:00 pm and found two of the four spots empty. We stayed at the third pull-out and were pleased to find a fire pit. We walked along the road and took a peek at the fourth pull-out. This one was much larger and also had a fire pit and great view of the river. The road after Grasshopper Meadows is bumpy, but drivable. It's another roughly two miles to the White River Falls campground and a little farther up the road to the trailhead. Definitely go there to see the river and falls. Several trailheads leave from here. I would definitely stay here again. Just get here early to secure a spot. We traveled over the Labor Day weekend 2019.
