I drove over a mile down the road. The first site was occupied by either a long-termer or was an abandoned older RV. The second site was definitely an abandoned car with the hood up, doors open and some note on the window - I did not get close enough to read it. The third opportunity was filled with various trash. The second site was definitely an abandoned car with the hood up, doors open and some note on the window - I did not get close enough to read it. The third opportunity was filled with various trash. There was nothing coming up on Google Maps to indicate any kind of turnout further on. What a dump I left.

This is about 1 mile south of Sisters on Three Creeks Rd. This is all national forest land and any open spot works for boondocking. Many smaller locations down the dirt side roads are available but only a few work for big rigs. There is a bit of dust on the roads and in the camping spots so expect to get dirty. We spoke with the forest ranger and he is pretty loose on the rules. He said there are many people camping out for months/years in the woods around town.
We use both AT&T and T-Mobile. T-Mobile works for calls but the data was slow. AT&T is much better and we could get 15Mbps download speeds.
The Chevron in town next to McDonalds has free water fill and the best priced propane in town but no dump or garbage. You can also go to the Sisters Creekside RV park and pay $10 for dump, garbage and water. The sisters park has 4 trash bins as well.
Don't miss going to Three Creeks Lake about 18 miles up the highway. It is a beautiful place to visit about 6500' elevation especially when the temperature is high.

The road we took is bumpy with pot holes so take it slow. We picked a spot with a nice rock fire pit not too far off of Logging Rd and it’s less than 5 minutes to a great kids park and the center of Sisters. Whychus Creek was a 10-minute walk from our spot and is great for swimming. It was mid-June and we only had to use the AC on the first day. We enjoyed seeing lots of bikers and didn’t hear any road noise.
