It was completely quiet and secluded. It was a short drive to the Grand Canyon as well. I highly recommend. We made it down the road with our trailer just fine.

The entrance was clearly marked and easy to access. The spot at the old chimney was open so I parked there. The only issue I found at this parking spot and others while walking around was broken glass. As long as you stayed within the tire tracks, you were ok. But due to people not respecting the land there was trash and broken glass everywhere. The main road was well maintained and easily passable. It was a little hot during the day but when the sun went down, so did the temperature. It cooled down to a nice sleeping temperature and was quiet.

Very first Boondocking camping trip going to see Grand Canyon. FR305 sign easy to see from main road. When you drive in there will first be Forest Ranger Info Sign. Keep traveling up rode you will see what looks like an old brick chimney on the left, which if you had a larger motorhome or rig I would park just on the other side of chimney. We drove a little further down the road to first side road to the left, pulled up and turned left with a slight incline before flat ground. We parked right there by some stone fire rings. Loved the spot because It was very quiet with just a very faint road noise from main highway. We had seen only two other campers come in. One pulled past us down the road about a 1000 yards and set up camp and we couldn't even see them. The road is mostly smooth but there are some larger rocks to be aware of so unless you have a little bit of lift on your car I would not go in during the night so you could see good to maneuver around the rocky areas.

We stayed one night close to the entrance of 305. You'll see a brick chimney area on the left with a pull around space that works great for large RV's. Ours is 43ft and it was an easy pull through. If you keep going up the road there are more spots available in the trees on the left but we decided to keep closer to the highway. We didn't see another camper on the entire road. It was very quiet and I got 30Mb download speed with T-Mobile. Much better cell service than at Tusayan or anywhere else closer to the Grand Canyon entrance. We will stay here again when visiting the Grand Canyon.

This was our first time boondocking and thanks to this app and reviews we were able to do so! We arrived around 8:30pm and only one other person was camping. We drove down passed them to find a spot. Super easy to find and great place to camp!

Thanks to previous reviews, we are delighted to have found this spot. Nobody here when we pulled in. We parked the motorhome just of the highway and drove the jeep further in on the well maintained Forest Service road. We found several spots to our liking and returned to get the motorhome. One more van pulled in and found the same area as us, but parked far enough away. Beautiful sunset. You can hear a bit of highway traffic, glad we didn't stay parked just off the highway.

The site felt very safe. The campground was clean. The road in was well maintained. The sites were very large. Several spots were grouped together, which would be great for a big family outing.

This is a great option for large motorhomes close to the Grand Canyon! It is clearly marked from the highway, and there is room to pull over and unhook if you want to drive around to look for your perfect spot (take chairs with you to mark your spot so it doesn't get invaded while you go back to get your rig!). We parked our 40ft next to the stone structure that is the first thing you see to your left. It was a tight fit (we couldn't use the fire pit because it was too close to the rig since we are so big), and you have to be careful of the rocks, but it was still a great spot. We chose to park here because we arrived at dusk and we running out of light.
After spending a couple of full days at the Canyon, we took a walk down the main road and discovered a couple of great options for rigs our size. The first is about a quarter mile down the road, on the left. It is a HUGE, level grassy area with a relatively rut and rock free entrance and a nice fire pit. There is room here for two (maybe three!) big rigs if you are caravaning.
The second spot is just a little further, also on the left. The entrance is rocky, but if you take your time to navigate the entrance, there are two good places for a big rig, with ample maneuvering room. Verizon had great download speeds!
