Is a permit required for dispersed camping along Forest Road 302?

Nope, not unless you have a large group. (Over 75) I just stayed there last week. My only complaint was the incessant helicopters flying overhead.

Nope, it’s free camping in the National Forest. There are about 10-15 sites along the dirt road that are accessible based on the wetness of the dirt. Many sites are near the entrance by highway 64. We stayed here (35.9677415, -112.1248160) and we had several neighbors come and go over the 3 nights we stay there. It’s a very nice place to boondock. Enjoy!
