“Good spot”

We were only able to find one viable campsite, but it was excellent. The road in is paved, eventually turning into some gravel roads that you’d want 4WD for. Follow any of the offshoots and you’ll likely find a good spot, though the later ones are harder to navigate. Very quiet, no service, some trash.

No trouble accessing in our midsize suv. Arrived after dark but in the morning discovered there was plenty of space for a tent, in addition to our car, and a fire pit. Quiet and secluded.

Don't just take the first spot you take a fancy to, there are loads of camping spots for miles. The main road in is easy access for most any vehicle/rig. The farther in you go you may have difficulty turning around just anywhere, but you should find someplace, just keep on going. You'll find miles and miles of paved and unpaved roads with gravel etcetera (we love to bike). Some spots are right on the Sol Duc River, others are farther back or just above. Head up higher into the forest (or off-road) and you will find some nice ridgeline camps. Be cautious and aware of bears and mountain lions if you choose to camp near the ridges and farther back into the forest. If you bike like we do, you also have access to the stunning Olympic Discovery Trail. Enjoy our pictures/videos, they'll give you a little taste of the beauty. August 2020.

The road was surprisingly busy...I guess loggers or like workers commuting to/from.
Not many areas to pull off to park. Maybe we didn’t drive in far enough, but we followed the coordinates from this app so? Maybe go farther.
Otherwise, beautiful woods.

Drive 6.9 miles on forest rd. 29 off sitkum-sol doc rd. Small turnout on right side, slightly rutted but beautiful site with fire ring and river access.
