Do NOT bear left where the brown sign is. Left takes you to day use area. Instead bear right and you’ll quickly come to camping area. Good spot maybe 20 min off of I80

This is a great place for camper vans, tenters , or even a 17ft or smaller campers would work. Road was very wash broadly.
If you can make there, enjoy!

As you approach you will see a left fork with a brown sign and a vault toilet. This is not the camping area. To reach the campground bear left and continue a short ways further. It will lead you into the campground. There is also a vault toilet there..

Someone also came and set up a tent and then left for multiple days without coming back just taking up the very few spots there are.
Aside from that the place is very pretty and shady for the most part, access to the river where we sat in lawn chairs in the river for most of the day. Also pit toilets that were clean.

I loved this spot, until I hated it. There are basically 3 sites, all shaded nicely for morning and night, with open canopy for mid-day sun. It was picturesque, and I thought it would be a great balance of sun and shade, but it actually made for pretty hot days, and difficulty capturing that solar. I was here in early August, and left as the weekend rush was building up... could see how those "3" spots could be stretched to make for more like 6 or 8 spots if push came to shove.
I didn't use the bathroom on site bc COVID, but apparently it was well-maintained.
Was great having the river so dang close! A herd of cattle from the neighboring property came up the river bank each day, and made their way in around and through the camp site. Haha they were pretty chill, but was quite startled by all the rustling in the brush, followed by these big heads popping through!
The thing that ultimately made me leave was the flies. I was on a long business call, and left my doors open for fresh air, trying to keep cool. Several dozen flies gathered in the van. I thought they'd be easy to get out, so didn't worry about them, but they became a huge pain in my butt, and neck, and face. Enough so that I abandoned this spot in order to get a few hours with the windows down, which finally cleared most of them out. Admittedly, that fly issue is on me, and should be expected for wilderness camping. I'm just getting started with this lifestyle, so it was a big learning moment for me. Leave doors open at my own risk.
Besides the flies, the less-than-ideal shade profile, and the small number of sites, I was pleasantly surprised with this little spot. Would come next time prepared for the flies, and be sure to arrive mid week.

It was a Monday night. It cools down nicely at night. Beautiful cobble bar next to the river. Sat out there at sunset and sunrise. Watched peregrine falcons, bald eagles, osprey. The dirt road in is washboard. Our dog got to run around and wade in the river. It was an awesome spot under a cottonwood canopy. Nice shade at 4:00 when it was 90 degrees out. Cooled down to mid 50s at night.

directions are a bit different to get here but did get us to the spot. We got our 26' bumper pulled with a crew cab long bed in and turned around. Pit toilets are handy and the river is nice, running fast and full right now.

Turn right at the locator. If you use Google maps it won't lead you there so you will have to follow the map itself.it's smaller than I thought, but I think you can always count on finding room here. We arrived Sunday night of labor Day and we were the first ones here at 4 pm. Another local couple showed up to camp an hour or so later. I told them about the other couple places down the river that I saw on campendium and they had never heard of them. So now they will be checking out campendium. It's right on the Platte River surrounded by tall cottonwood trees. we came here because there's nothing really good along the interstate. Now we will be heading south and east on highway 130 to go through snowy range which is another place you shouldn't Miss Saratoga itself. It has a free little hot springs called hobo hot springs. Customer service.
