The bat house at the bath house is a treat. pleasant, easy trail to the Blue Hole "swimming" area, too many gators for us! The Cavern Tours and the hikes around the cavern entrance are the highlight of this CG. Close to town. Bath house needed more detailed cleaning. The sites are very level and drained well. Surface is rock, not sand. There was some CG construction during the week days which may noise, but we left

This is a great park. I would definitely camp here again. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. The other campers were friendly and would chat with their fellow campers. So that you can came prepared, there is little to no shade and it gets hot in full sun. This campground lost most of the tree cover from Hurricane Michael in 2018. Their trees are starting to come back but it is a slow process. It looked like they were preparing to fix the roads inside the park. We passed on the Cavern tour on this trip since we had toured the cavern in the past - it is added to our bucket list to tour on our next visit there. It was very quiet. One thing I can say is that the park trail maps could use some improvement. We had full hook ups that was upgraded after Hurricane Michael. Some sites are tight to back into and you just need to pay attention to the site length when you book. Not a lot of space between each site but still not too close. As I said above - great park and look forward to booking another trip there. On our Verizon cell service - we had 4G in the camper and up by the museum and gift shop we had 5G. Our nightly rate is the Florida senior citizen rate.

Several nice hikes on multi use trails, bikes, hikers and horses. Only saw other hikers on this trip. Swam in the swimming hole, very refreshing. The highlight of the trip was the cave tour. Our guide, Steve, was knowledgeable, friendly and very engaging. The caves are amazing!!
We would definitely stay here again. The camp hosts came by each evening to see if we needed firewood! Very nice!

We stayed in site 11 and it was perfect for our stay. The sites can accommodate RVs up to 32ft. Hookups were new and clean. Caverns were awesome and the kids absolutely loved them. Minor complaint is the road from the front gate to the sites is there are a few potholes but would not stop us from staying at this awesome campground again.

These sites were perfectly clean, quiet, and level. We stayed in site 11 and the hookups were new and clean, we really can’t think of any complaints other than the road to get from the front gate to campsites had a few potholes but nothing to serious. Caverns were awesome and the kids loved it. They only allow RVs up to 32ft.

The guide was less than enthusiastic but the caverns spoke for themselves. Wonderful! Traveling in our class B, we left it hooked up in the site keeping the pup cool in AC. No bikes so we walked to the caverns from site, 1.7 miles each way. No big deal for us, however it was all road and no shade. Bikes would have been handy.
Ladies wash house was fine! Mens was really dirty, but he had frogs jumping around in there for company.
Hiking trails very disappointing. Ok for a horse! Long grass and not maintained. We did enjoy finding the ranger geocaches.

Ravaged by Michael in 2018, it is now under controlled burns to clear the under brush which was struggling. Some of the fires got nasty so there were firefighters around as well as lots of restrictions including no campground fires and limited grilling. Staff, volunteers, everyone was super nice and they offered refunds for those wishing to leave. Park has no tree canopy so all camping sites are under full sun and have no privacy in between. Otherwise, park is vast and cute. There’s actually a beauty to the downed and burnt foliage. You can see it as the end of something or the beginning of something else. Facilities are almost all new and very clean. The few trails are pretty and easy. The blue hole is cool looking as are the caverns. A one or two night camp sort of place.

We stayed here right in our airstream right after it reopened after hurricane michael. The even park is brand new and very clean and plenty of space between each site. The caverns tour was really cool and everyone who works here is so nice. The blue hole is beautiful but it was too cold to swim. We also ate at two local restaurants that were so good. One was a Greek restaurant called Mashawy Restaurant that was right at the entrance to the park. The lamb chops were to die for! The next night we drive 13 miles to Landshark Restaurant that had some of the best seafood we have ever had, and we are from Louisiana so we are used to good seafood. The raw oysters were literally the best we’ve ever had. And the fried crab claws and catfish were perfectly fried, crispy and delicious. We highly recommend this park!

Florida Caverns is a terrific state park. It's quiet, the spots have adequate privacy, and the tree canopy is lovely. In addition, the tour of the cavern was just great. It's not an enormous cavern like Carlsbad or Luray but does have many beautiful formations. Worth the $8 tour fee. There is also a private flashlight tour of the caves in the evening, ask at the gift shop as it's not widely advertised.
We intended to stay four nights but left early due to the massive amounts of mosquitos, even during the day-time. Even doused in bug spray we were eaten alive on the trails during the day. In the evening we had a lovely fire going that we had to put out in less than 10 minutes and go eat dinner inside because we were getting bit terribly. Since we could not do much of anything outdoors either day or nighttime, we left after 3 nights.
Our stay was unfortunately disappointing as it would have been cool to just chill at the campsite in a hammock all day but that was just not possible. Perhaps it is more manageable at a different time of year, we stayed in early September.

Florida Caverns State Park is such a cool place. Full hookups, small campground, wooded, satisfactory bathhouse and restroom with plenty of hot water, miles of hiking and riding trails, fishing, canoeing, swimming, and even a good restaurant in town if you want to enjoy southern fried cuisine. About four miles from our campsite, Jim’s Buffet and Grill in downtown Marianna offered up the best fried catfish I have ever had, not to mention fried chicken that was comparable to the best I have ever eaten. Baked chicken and pulled pork rounded out the protein with among other choices such as cooked cabbage, mustard greens, rutabaga, lima beans, and a huge salad bar. Of course, with any southern themed restaurant, the dessert bar was enormous with lemon meringue pie and banana pudding highlighting the choices.
The wooded trails around the park are what will bring us back here. The landscape is beautiful and the paths well-marked and maintained, with little to no activity on them as most campers are most likely inside their trailers watching television and the visitors to the park are on the cavern tour or browsing the large gift shop.
