Top of the world camping! It’s a Mecca for hang gliding and parasailing. It’s a little windy but warm and sunny. Definitely a great place to overnight.

This site has great access right off of I15. There is some construction on the hill owing up to the flight park, and this year our gps wanted to take us on a crazy route that doesn’t exist through neighborhoods. Follow the signs to the park and take the logical route on Google Maps and you’ll be fine. Don’t take the route up into the hills, through the neighborhood, if that’s what your gps tells you…..it doesn’t exist. SLC has so much going on, it’s a great stop to take care of life’s business and see great sites, like the Salt Flats. The Flight Park is fun when the paragliders are flying…very unique opportunity. We have stayed here before without problems, but this year, for some reason, there were cars coming and going ALL NIGHT LONG. Makes us wonder what they were up to. During the day, though, it’s a very easy going crowd and a lot of fun. This is definitely our go-to stop in SLC.

We stayed 1 night. There were 5 other campers in the area. Easy access to get in. As other reviews state it is super windy due to the elevation. We couldn’t sleep as our travel trailer rocked with the wind. We personally would never go back again.

Yes, I would stay here again. You are paying for a numbered place to park and watch gliders, not a 'campsite.' There is a dumpster & vault toilets. I recommend backing into the dunes, NOT parallel. I recommend backing into the dunes, NOT parallel. When we arrived most rv's were backed in so that is what we did, but the people on each side of us (Class A on our left & Class C on our right) each parked parallel so they could watch the gliders. When the wind picked up over the dunes it was hitting the back of our RV (hard enough we hitched to get more stability.) We watched to Class A & C rock side to side.
We have a video of our time here (prior to the strongest winds.)

Solid option for access to SLC and Wasatch Mountains. Much better than then RV parks we've stayed at in the area. Simple dirt strip on top of ridge. Outhouse on site. Most of other campers were there to fly, which made for some interesting company. Highway noise.

There is a berm on the north side of the plateau that protects you from the northern winds (50% of the time). Sites are fairly level with only minor leveling needed. Quiet area. The neighbors were courteous, and the camp host is great. Although we had 2 bars 4G Verizon, data was slow enough to render imessage useless, texts were sent instead.

This place was fun. We were just traveling north through Salt Lake City and found this site on Campendium. Easy access and great location for access to SLC, its suburbs, and the Bonneville Flats. This location is known world wide for its prime paragliders conditions, and the paragliders were out in full force each morning and evening. It was so fun to watch. Of course, given that, you have to expect some wind, but it wasn’t too bad. The site really is a large parking lot with site numbers. They now charge $15 per night. Lots of van campers who come for the morning paragliding, then leave. Everyone was super friendly and happy to talk about their hobby. No length restriction for rigs. Lots of dogs off leash, so if that’s not your thing, you may want to avoid it. Good cell service. Fun stop, for sure!

There were a few other campers parked a good distance away from us, but we didn’t see anyone until the morning when the paragliders were out and getting ready. The Park Ranger was also super nice.
Highly recommend! It’s a great place to stay that’s close to Salt Lake.
